Why You Should Not Mix Drinking And Driving

February 8th, 2010 No comments

Ever since the invention of the automobile people have been drinking and driving. There are many people that think they can drive if they have only had a couple drinks but this is far from the truth. There is never an excuse for drinking and driving, no matter how little you had to drink.

When you take the risk and drive will drinking there are many things that may go wrong. You could end up spending the night in jail and having to pay a large fine for a DUI if you are caught driving drunk. Not to mention all of the people you are putting in danger. A DUI is the best case scenario because you could end up taking someone’s life.

You run the risk of losing a lot when you are drunk and driving. If you drive after you have been drinking you take the risk of killing yourself or someone else. You will go to jail if you wreck and the result is someone’s death. You absolutely can and more than likely will be arrested and charged with the crime of man slaughter if you kill someone will driving drunk.

Most people would have a hard time living with the fact that their bad choice caused someone to die. Of course going out and having a few drinks is perfectly fine as long as you do not drive after you drink. If you are planning to have a drink make sure you plan on a safe way to get home like a friend or taxi.

There is never a reason to drink and drive when a cab can get you there safely for only a few bucks. The few dollars you pay the cab driver to take you home could save someone’s life and it may even be yours. Never think that you can drive because you have only had one or two drinks. Many people have said that they can drive as well or better when they have been drinking but this is never true.

There is no one who can drive better while being drunk. When you and your friends go out drinking, be the responsible adult and suggest everyone take a taxi cab home. When leaving after a night out drinking ask the smart question of “what is the number for the cab”? Never ask who is sober enough to drive us home.

When you have had a couple or drinks you may not make the most rational decisions. This is why planning ahead is so important. If you plan for a cab to drive you to the club or bar then you will more than likely be taking a cab home. Ask a friend to drop you off if you plan to drink this way your car will not even be there for you to drive. This country also has a problem with teenagers driving drunk.

Set a good example for your teens and talk to them about drinking and driving. Make sure they know that drinking is harmful and that driving drunk could ruin their lives or get them killed. Too many teens have lost their lives due to drunk driving.

If you like the idea of modifying your car to make it truly something unique and special, odds are that you have at least considered a body kit.

For those who are looking to modify a car, a body kit is normally a good place to start. In fact, for many of us, a good body kit is the core of building a custom look that can be nothing short of spectacular. There are lots of body kits on the market, and you might be wondering why so many of them seem to be made from carbon fiber. If you don’t know much about carbon fiber, you will soon understand why carbon fiber is so attractive for manufacturers that build carbon fiber body kits.

Believe it or not, carbon fiber has been around since the late 1950s. Yet, it has only been in the last couple of decades that the stuff has really started to come into its own. Manufacturing of carbon fiber has picked up in recent years. This has lead to the wonder material being used in everything from spacecraft design (that’s right spacecraft design!) to formula one racing cars. But why is carbon fiber so loved?

Since carbon fiber has so much going for it, you are probably already thinking that it is perfect for a car body kit. If you are thinking that, then you are definitely on track. The impressive array of properties that carbon fiber brings to the table is part of the reason that the auto industry loves the stuff.

Its no wonder that this great material is so widely used in the auto world, and performance auto parts like body kits. In the future, expect to see carbon fiber making appearances in everything from consumer products to medical devices. This versatile nature is part of the reason that it is such an auto industry favorite and superstar. Putting Your Love of Motorcycles on Your Personal Checks

February 8th, 2010 No comments

It’s easy to show your interests and personality these days, even when it comes to your bank checks. If you take a look at any website that sells checks you will find hundreds of themes available to choose from. From animals to landscapes, it’s possible to find images that suit any personality. If it’s motorcycles you’re into, there’s a variety of themes to be found.

With gasoline being high these days, motorcycles are widely being used for their fuel efficiency. Higher miles per gallon can be achieved when driving small motorcycles. In countries like Vietnam, motorcycles have become the most popular form of transport, partly due to the fact that they take up less space on the road. They are also more economical in London, England, since they are not charged the city congestion fee.

Motorcycles can hold different meanings for different people. These individual interests can be shown on your checks. You don’t just have to ride a Harley to be a motorcycle fan!

However, if you ride a Harley, you pretty much have a wide array of choices for your motorcycle checks. Since Harley-Davidsons first came onto the scene in Milwaukee in 1903, they have inspired a bevy of loyal customers. Their logo-inspired merchandise alone accounts for 5% of their annual sales. Whether you drive a Sportser, a Dyna, or a Softail, it is fairly easy to find Harley themed personal checks that fit your style. Some companies even offer checkbook covers that match the motorcycle checks.

If you’re on the police force, you might also want to have checks with motorcycle images. Many forces use motorcycles as forms of transport. It is possible to find personal checks with images of police officer’s service to their community, motorcycle in tow.

Americans’ love of freedom can be symbolized by images of classic motorcycles, like the Indian. The open road is often connected to motorcycles and nothing says freedom like flying down the highway with the wind in your face. Patriotic themed checks frequently have images of the bald eagle, American flag, and classic motorcycles.

Adventure and speed are most frequently connected to motorcycles, of course. For intense competitions, street bikes can be used for track races. Some personal check images contain pictures of drag racing and dirt bikes. To those people that enjoy going to the races, racing can be an art form and a way of life.

Having an image that speaks of your passion for motorcycles can be a great way to personalize your checks. If you own a motorcycle business, it can also be a good marketing tool, which is another reason that some people prefer to have an image on their otherwise plain checks.

If you’re looking to save money, you can usually find checks 50% cheaper if you order them online. You can generally get them in the same amount of time that you would have if you had ordered them from your bank. It can also be more advantageous to order online due to the abundant options of check themes that are available.

Before you order motorcycle checks, visit Motorcycle-Checks.com to find coupons and to save up to 50% off your next order of motorcycle personal checks.

Kinds Of Air Suspension Parts for Trucks!

February 7th, 2010 No comments

If you’re a serious towing enthusiast, you probably already know the reasons why you should add a truck air ride suspension system to your heavy-duty truck: a quality truck air suspension system helps by cushioning a bumpy ride, leveling your vehicle, reducing wheel hopping, limiting trailer bucking and adding stability during braking. And, an air ride suspension system helps you protect your investment in your heavy-duty truck by preventing the harsh wear and tear caused by heavy towing. Adjustable “helper” springs. This type of system is generally comprised of an add-on helper spring that aids in leveling the truck and reducing vehicle bounce, dip, or bottoming out when hauling a heavy load or towing. The air springs can be adjusted, often with a service station air hose, to the truck’s load condition for more control and leveling support.

Complete towing suspension system. This type of system is designed to both level the truck and improve the overall ride. Installing these kits involves removing the steel leaf spring on the truck and replacing it with an entirely new air spring. Some manufacturers also replace front and rear shocks for optimum performance. As with any product, each truck air suspension system claims to have the “latest and greatest” features and benefits. It’s easy to get caught up in all the hype, but when you come right down to it, there are a few things that are more important than others. Here’s a list of major features and options to consider when comparison shopping.

Does the manufacturer use high quality premium parts that will hold up over years of heavy hauling? Avoid plastic fittings and lower grade materials that may wear out or need to be replaced. Quality materials translate to greater reliability and a longer life for your air ride suspensions system, even under the harshest towing conditions. Is the system easy to use? Can you easily adjust your suspension level? Are there in-cabin controls to help you determine air pressure and load information? An air suspension system that’s difficult to level and adjust will cause you added stress and unpredictability.

Look for the towing capacity of the air suspension system and be sure it can adequately handle the load you plan to tow. When it comes to towing capacity, the bigger the air spring, the more weight it can handle. Keep in mind that your truck and trailer load should never exceed the gross combined weight rating (GCWR), which is the total weight of the trailer under fully loaded conditions, including food, water, gear, etc.

How is the system installed? Does your truck’s frame need to be altered to install the system? Do holes need to be drilled? Can the system be removed if necessary? Before you buy, be sure that installation won’t be a problem for your or your truck. Find out if you can install the system yourself or if it will require manufacturer assistance. If assistance is required, does the manufacturer provide you with a manual or access to a dealer or installation specialist?

Does your system provide a warranty that won’t expire before you’ve had time to really test your system with a long haul? Does the manufacturer stand behind the product? Does the manufacturer offer a no-risk guarantee if you are not satisfied with the system? Do a little research up front and you’ll avoid unnecessary wear and tear on your truck – and costly repairs down the road. Your main consideration should be overall ride performance, safety and stability during heavy towing. If you’re serious about towing, you need to be sure you are buying an air ride suspension system that can do more than level the ride; it needs to be suited for heavy towing. Like many things in the automotive industry, using an inexpensive aftermarket part often yields less than optimal results.

Many companies offer good discounts to customers that have multiple insurance policies with them. You may pay lower prices for more than just your home insurance by choosing to do this.

Disadvantages of Pay as You Drive Insurance

February 7th, 2010 No comments

Pay As You Drive insurance is taking off in popularity. This insurance program is based on the number of miles you drive. The less you drive, the cheaper your insurance premiums. In the current tough economy, the idea of paying less for what can be a big expense is appealing. However, Pay As You Drive Insurance does have some disadvantages.

First of all, in order to utilize Pay As You Drive insurance, you have to consent to having your vehicle?s mileage monitored. There are costs associated with these monitoring programs. These costs are paid for by the driver, not the insurance provider. These costs could outweigh the potential savings gained from Pay As You Drive Insurance. In addition, drivers would have to install a new monitoring device every time they change insurance providers. That makes Pay As You Drive insurance inconvenient, and it makes shopping for a better deal difficult and frustrating for drivers.

Secondly, the companies that make the odometer tracking devices also charge a periodic fee for transmitting data. So, not only do you pay for the device, you pay to use it. This, again, possibly can eat away any savings from driving less when you use Pay As You Go.

Third, the insurance companies have had an opportunity to develop a completely new price structure when they offered Pay As You Go. This has allowed them to pass off new costs to drivers, again, canceling out the benefits of your careful and frugal driving.

There are also concerns about how odometer data may be used. While it may be true that the monitoring devices will only provide the data needed to compute premiums, there is always the possibility that the monitors could be modified to tell the company not just how far you drive, but where, when, and how often. This information about where you could go could then be used to raise your rates, or for some other purpose entirely.

Supporters of Pay As You Drive plans assert that driving less will result in fewer accidents. However, the correlation between miles driven and number of accidents is not necessarily simple. Low-mileage drivers are not necessarily safer drivers. It is just as easy for a Pay As You Drive driver to get into a crash as a driver covered by a more traditional insurance program.

On the surface, the cost savings of Pay As You Drive seem quite attractive. Drivers who are considering Pay As You Drive, however, should ask detailed questions before signing up for the plan. Gather as much information as you can to determine whether Pay As You Go is really right for you.

Guide To Adjust A JL Audio Amplifier Input Sensitivity

February 6th, 2010 No comments

Audio systems have become a part of household devices. Hence has resulted in the emergence of companies which produce such systems. JL audio is one of the manufacturers of quality electronic audio products. Their products include audio systems for home, mobile and marine. They are well known for their subwoofers, subwoofer amplifiers and audio crossovers. This article reads on how to adjust a JL audio amplifier.

Amplifiers need to be set properly for the proper output. The following paragraphs will give you the clear picture of fixing the amplifier and adjusting it to obtain the best music.

A high frequency or a low frequency may cause damage to the amplifier. Thus it is understood that these frequencies has to be avoided from reaching the amplifier. The filter used for the above purpose is called the crossover filter.

The first step is to determine the permissible frequency ranges. These are called cross over frequency. They act just like filters filtering low and high frequency sound signals from reaching the car speakers. The low tones or bass are usually removed by high pass filter and trebles or higher tones are eliminated or removed by low pass filter. Next we have to decide whether we have to fix the cross over at high pass filter or low pass filter. This is determined by what the amplifier powers. It can be small speakers or even sub woofers. In the former case we go usually for cross over fixed at HPF. If amplifiers powers a woofer we may fix the cross over to low pass.

It is observed that small speakers are being powered by amplifiers, as in the case of car dash. In the above case, a high pass crossover filter is set. After that, the frequency is set to 100 Hz. It is also seen that subwoofers are powered by amplifiers. In this case, a low frequency crossover filter is set. Similarly as that of the other one, the frequency is set to 100 Hz. The frequencies can be adjusted according to one’s wish using the settings available in the JL amplifier.

The amplifier’s bass boost is then set. This is the next thing to be done. This bass boost comes as an in built feature of few audio’s manufactured by JL groups.

Some music lovers will want to hear the lowest music also. This is achieved by setting the bass control in the amplifier. It is present in a few amplifiers and hence used to make music sound better. This control is adjusted so as to get the desired music, especially when we use speakers and subwoofers.

Thus we have learnt How to adjust a JL audio car amplifier by ourselves to tune the amplifier to enjoy our taste of music.

This article is about how to install a 6-disc cd changer.

The CD changer also comes in a set of designs based on the model of the stereo this makes the process of selecting the CD changer easy. When the stereo and the CD changer are connected all the operations of the CD changer can be done using the stereo itself. There are a few tools required to complete this task its makes the job easier and a lot faster. The tools include a drill, a screw driver, a new CD changer, and a mounting kit for the CD changer.

The first thing to do before connecting a CD changer is to select a perfect spot for it. The spot must give easy access for inserting and ejecting the CD easily. The changer is connected to the stereo of the car through a inner cable. This cable should be long enough so that the CD changer can be mounted in any location in the car.

The mounting hardware that comes with the changer is then installed. The changer is generally available with a bracket set that helps in mounting the changer. It can be mounted in a flat way, vertical position or also hung in trunk. The necessary holes are drilled for these brackets. They are then screwed to its position.

Then the mounting hardware of the changer is installed. Brackets are provided with the changer. This will enable us to get it placed in any orientation. It may be horizontally placed or vertically placed. It can be placed even as a hanging type. Holes are drilled in the required locations. Then they are fixed to the place with the help of screws.

The cable is plugged in the changer’s port which is generally present in the changer’s side. Angle adjustment is then set on changer. The switch on CD changer must also be set according to the mounting angle of the changer in such a way that they both match.

Then, the changer is placed in the brackets. The screws are then screwed back to keep the changer in position. By doing this the installation is completed.

The carpet can be removed by removing the scuff plates of the doors. Now after bringing the cable to the changer, it must be plugged in its place. In the last step we can choose the inclination of the changer and after this is done, the changer is screwed. Thus knowing how to install a six disc CD changer is well explained in the above steps.

Simple Tips To Buy CD Players To Massive Discounts

February 6th, 2010 No comments

This article is the perfect one to be read if we want to know How to Buy Car CD Players. This article also gives a list of things that should be taken care of before making the purchase. We will also discuss why CDs have gained importance in the recent years over radios and cassette players.

There are many basic requirements that are needed to be there in a CD player but other than that many prefer additional features. The following tips might therefore be very useful.

The first thing to keep in mind is the size of the player that can properly fit the car. There are numerous types of cars and each car has different panel type. In this the dashboard might differently sized panels for the player. Hence, the music player’s size must be selected in such a way that it fits exactly in the space provided. If the CD changer is to be installed in the trunk, the wiring and other connections must be ensured. If there are amplifiers that are built in the player, the battery must be checked if it is capable of giving the required power to support it.

It is preferable to buy a Player with all necessary and up to date features such as using drives in your player, whether DVD can be used, should make sure of digital displays without that which will be much more difficult to operate in dark. And knowing about the built in amplifiers would be better before deciding a Player of your choice. It is not necessary that you have to buy players with all the features in it you may neglect a few which ever you think as it wont serve your purpose.

Next decide on the features which we may require. Check for compatibility of players with DVD and CD. Few may also look for digital displays, amplifiers and trunk changers. If you are not familiar with the latest features offered then browse the web sites or learn from professionals in the store where you decide to make the purchase. Few players come with specifications for installation. In case of trunk changer we need to look for wiring specifications also. Ehow. Com is a famous site where we can get an idea of various updated features available and there are web sites where we can make on line purchases by comparing the prices and features of leading brands.

Next thing to be considered is our budget. CD players are available as cheap as 100 dollars or can even exceed 1500 dollars depending upon the features needed. But it is always better to buy leading brands and those with good records of sales than to experiment with newer ones.

Even if we have decided to buy a good brand ask for a demo. All good shops permit you to listen to music. Check if the quality of sound is good and the player is new. Make sure the dealer gives the best price and the CD player comes with a free warranty. Few even offer theft insurance. Buy a reputed brand from a good retailer. Check if any retailer offers free installation for their product . If so give preference to them . However installation of player is not a complicated job and can be even done on our own.

So its time to throw away over cassette tapes and enjoy our favorite music collection on CD as we now know How to Buy Car CD Players by considering various factors.

Choosing the Right GPS

February 5th, 2010 No comments

There are so many different models of GPS devices out there it is often difficult to know which one to buy.Do I buy the Garmin 880 or the 760? What about the TomTom 930? If the preceding questions sound like gibberish to you, don’t worry. With the tips in this article and a good GPS comparison chart, you will be able to confidently choose the right GPS device for you.

The two things you should know before you begin to make your decision are what you want to get out of the device and your price range. Once you have the answers to these questions, you can easily see which models fit your criteria by looking at a GPS comparison chart.

You would certainly like to know how it works. The problem which occurs with the GPS receivers which are equipped mostly with vector graphics which is the ultimate graphic solution is; one, you shall not be able to download maps with high degree of detailing maps.

The second thing to take into consideration is your price range. At the time I’m writing this article, basic GPS devices start out at around $100 and the top-of-the-line devices are priced well over $500. With $100 you can get a basic GPS device without many features.

At the higher end of the price range, you can get a GPS device that is completely voice commanded, has real time traffic information, calculates routes that are nearly always reliable, and plenty of other features.

Once you have a general idea about what kind of device you’d like and what models fall into your price range, it’s time to really start comparing devices. This isn’t always easy, one device might be an amazing deal but filled with features you would never use while another might be perfect except it’s missing that one feature you just have to have.

Using a GPS comparison chart should make things much easier since all the information immediately available and you don’t need to go through multiple sources of information in order to get a complete picture of how the models match up.

Audio Instructions One should also consider looking for a GPS automobile tracking system that is capable of giving audio instructions while driving. Several models only provide visual location maps which might not be useful when one is driving alone.

If a device has less than three out of 5 stars, that’s a major red flag that there is probably something wrong despite matter how great it might look.

Tractors And Their Use In Recent History

February 5th, 2010 No comments

A specifically designed vehicle called a “tractor” delivers high torque (tractive effort) even at slow speed. The machinery is used in construction or agriculture or for hauling a trailer. Generally, this term describes a distinctive farm vehicle although horticultural use is common too. A tractor may be used for towing agricultural implements or for providing power to an implement if it is mechanized.

Trahere means “to pull” which comes from the Latin language, and tractor is its agent noun. The tractor unit was used for the first time as “a vehicle or an engine used for pulling ploughs or wagons” and this was recorded to occur in 1901. Before this, the common term used in 1859 was “traction engine”.

In Germany, Spain, Ireland, Argentina, Australia, India and Britain, tractor implies farm tractor, generally speaking. However, in Canada and US, it may additionally refer to the tractor’s trailer.

Portable engines in the early 19th century were the first farm implements that were powered. Steam engines were placed onto wheels that could then be used for driving mechanical farm machines using flexible belts. About 1850, these engines became the basis of first traction engine that were quite widely adopted for agricultural use.

The first recognized tractors were ploughing engines powered by steam. They were used in pairs for hauling a plough back and forth across fields using wire cabling. Depending upon the soil conditions, like in the US for example, the use of steam tractors was made for ploughing using the direct-haul technique. This was not the case with other places like the United Kingdom, where cable-haul ploughing techniques were used.

Untill the 20th century, agricultural engines powered by steam were used, however, later on more reliable engines with internal combustion support were developed which replaced the earlier engines.

Now its time to have a look at the great range of used farm tractors for sale which also includes a range of farmall tractors for sale.

Winter Driving Means Don’t Take Chances

February 5th, 2010 No comments

Driving during the winter months take preparation and following a couple of very good rule. The first being, if you do not have to go anywhere, don’t. Then always give yourself extra time during winter driving and make sure your vehicle is in the best shape. Also, always stay with your vehicle should you get stuck.

Before winter arrives take the time t winterize your vehicle. This means seeing a professional for a vehicle check up. Besides winter tires, you’ll also want your vehicle in tip top shape, which can keep you from being stuck in sub zero temperatures.

Make sure your mechanic checks out your brakes, does any tune up work, checks all fluids including wiper fluid and installs new windshield wipers if needed. This is all winter preparation and can allow you to drive if you have to with a healthy vehicle.

Then winterize a bit more with an emergency preparedness kit. This is not just for alerting people of a stranded vehicle with flares and such, it’s also for you. Make sure you have a gallon of water, flashlights, extra batteries and simple high energy foods such as chocolate or energy bars. You’ll also want to through in hats, gloves, insulated boots and a few blankets. Of course, it doesn’t help to look online for auto insurance quotes and ensure your car insurance covers everything you need.

Many people have been found easily through gps capabilities in their cell phone, but a dead battery can’t help you much so make sure you have a cell charger and fully charge your phone before heading out. The last step is plugging of wiring harness. Also we need to plug the adapter of antenna to the lead of the antenna. Installation becomes complete once the antenna lead and harness are plugged back into the stereo. Finally ensure that stereo is locked into the cage. This can be confirmed if we hear clicking sounds as we fix the stereo in dash board. It is important for the lone driver to learn how to repair a car audio system since without music the drive could be very boring. There might not be any service stations in reach and with the help of few basic tools that are always kept in the car, it can be achieved. Some problems can be very minor and needs little effort. This also helps the owner to save money by not going to the service station for some minor faults.

Some tools must always be kept in the car in case of emergencies. This procedure will also use only such tools like the screwdriver, and a puller for the pulling out the fuses. The major problems faced by the audio system are due to the blown out fuse. It is hence advisable that few fuses may be kept as safety in the car always.

There is a dash board which surrounds the stereo in the car. It covers all the components and wiring that come into the stereo. To repair the stereo one must remove the dash board first. The dash board is fixed to the car stereo rigidly by use of screws. So in order to remove the dash board first we have to unscrew the connecting screws with the help of a screw driver of a suitable size. The dash board is removed from the stereo and placed aside until the operation gets over.

After removing the screws and pulling out the dash board then the stereo is also pulled out. Next the wiring is removed from the stereo so as to look at the problem inside it without causing any damage to any parts of the wire or the machine parts. In all the stereos there will be a black cable connecting the antenna to the stereo. This is used for radio reception. This wire is also unplugged from the stereo like the other wires.

Next step one must use a fuse puller for removing the fuse wire from the stereo. This is important because it is very delicate and sensitive and might get damaged while performing the operation. These fuse are present in the back side of the stereo.

The damage in the fuse wire can be found in three ways one if the wire running into the fuse wire is broken or if the color of the fuse wire changes to black that is it is burnt and the last way to find the damage is very simple that is the fuse will be melted or blown. If any of the three is noticed then it is mandatory to change the fuse wire.

If you are unable to identify the fuse box, take the car’s manual and follow the instructions present in the fuse box page. You will find a detailed flow diagram or block diagram of the audio system in that page. Identify the fuse box in the stereo with the help of that chart or diagram. Then pull it out using the fuse pullers and replace the broken fuse wire with a new one. The antenna cable and the wire harness are fixed back and the screws are replaced. The dash board is reattached firmly using the screws which were removed initially.

February 4th, 2010 No comments

Music systems have become an essential one for us as it helps us to relax from our pressures. Loudness and the clarity of the music talk a lot about the quality of the system we use. To increase the loudness and clarity of the music we use amplifiers. After reading this article you will know how to connect an original car stereo to an amp.

The works requires the following tools to proceed. It will require screw drivers of the Philips company, a drill, a panel tool, a kit which contains amplifier wirings , groomets and spacers made of rubber. It will also require the use of wires and harness adapter.

First of all the negative cable has to be disconnected from the battery. This cable gives the connection between the negative lead and the vehicle. The clamp of the cable is removed using a screw driver .It is left undisturbed until the process is completed.

Now the ring terminal of the amplifier, whose fuse has been removed, is connected to the positive lead of the battery. This ring amplifier is obtained from the kit. A screw driver may be used for this purpose. A hole is drilled in the firewall which is in the compartment of the car engine. This is used for the power supply of the amplifier. The wiring is protected using groomets. The amplifier is placed in the vehicle’s trunk. In case of trucks it is placed under the seat. Spacers are used in this case to provide ventilation.

The amplifier is mounted on the trunk of the car. In the case of trucks the amplifier is mounted below the seat to provide ventilation. The vehicle’s stereo is removed. The removal procedure varies from one vehicle to other. The manual which is issued along with the vehicle by the manufacturer is to be referred often. The stereo unit is pulled to the dash till the wiring in the rear.

In the next step a hole is drilled in the compartment of the engine so as to pass the battery power to the location where the amplifier is connected. A coating of rubber grommet is made on the wire to protect the opening. It always better to place the amplifier in the trunk. In case of a truck, the amplifier can be mounted in the space below the seat but one should ensure that there is enough air circulation in that place.

The stereo system of the car is removed. The process of removing it varies from one car to another and so it is better to go through the user’s manual before doing this job. Take out the stereo so that the wires in the back side of the stereo can be accessed easily. Now the wires attached to the stereo system are removed. Then the wires are connected to a adapter. This connection is easy to make because all the wires are colour coded.

Technology has made things easy and simple though it is complicated in its own working. The above article would have taught you how to connect an original car stereo to an amp. These works must be done with caution and accuracy. Thus take time to do this simple work with care.

February 4th, 2010 No comments

Depth of the music is very important for all those who are all music enthusiasts. They also aim at giving a powerful music and equally good sound. So they are more interested in developing such a stereo. The high range of music is generally handled by the speakers at the rear decks, door panels and at the dash. A sub woofer is no substitute for a device which can handle lower ranges which also separate a audio system and stock system. As far as an audio professional is considered he can handle the job of installing sub woofer to your system. Even an individual can try doing it. But how to install a sub woofer in a factory stereo?

Generally it is a minute job for audio professionals to perform this task of installation. But even an individual can learn how to install a sub woofer in a factory stereo. There are few tools required for accomplishment of this task. The usage of such tools will reduce the man power required and makes it easy to complete the task. It may include trim panel removals, Philips head screw driver, speaker wires.

The negative cable from the car’s battery is removed initially. The battery’s negative terminal is actually connected with the negative cable and to the car’s frame. The cable’s clamp is loosened with the use of a Philips screw driver. The clamp is removed and it is kept aside until the task is accomplished.

Second step is to find out the amplifier. If it is not an after marker amp and if it is factory installed one vehicle manual can help us locate the amplifier of the vehicle. Next step is to decide where the woofer should be placed. The choices available are car trunk or hatch back or cargo area of SUV on the rear side.

Fourth step is very important. The speaker wires should be connected with the positive and negative terminals of the amps correctly. The next step needs some attention. The wires of the speaker should be routed to the place where sub woofers are present. Suppose if the location of sub woofers is not near the amplifier then wires can be taken under the carpet of the vehicle. Use trim panel removal tool for prying of panels at the openings of the door. The trim panels can be replaced by hand itself after laying the wires under the carpet.

The trim panels at the opening of the door are all pried from the floor free by using a trim panel removal tool. The carpet is then lifted up and the wiring is laid beneath it. Then using the hands the trim panels are replaced.

The positive wires are then connected to the positive terminal and in the same way the negative terminals connected with the negative wires. That is in general corresponding connections between sub woofer input and the speaker wires are made. At last a re connection is established between the vehicle battery’s negative lead post and the grounding cable. Then the cable clamps are fixed in its position and re installed using a Philips screw driver.

This article would have provided a complete answer on How to Install a Sub woofer in a Factory Stereo with step by step instructions without the help of professionals to do the job.

Things You Need To Know About Rental Car Insurance

February 3rd, 2010 No comments

Most of us have been there before. We make all the proper arrangements for our trip, which sites to visit, booked the hotel with the right room package. We even have picked just the right car for that road trip that we need to rent. When the days comes everything seem to work out just fine until you set foot in the car rental agency wanting to pick up the keys to that rental car. When the final bill comes and we have picked the most comprehensive insurance package, we are shocked that the price of the rental car suddenly doubled. Looking through the details, you find that it is the car insurance that is doubling the rental costs. It is quite normal for people to get very aggravated and even shocked that something like the insurance for their rental car can cost so much. In this article it is our hope that we can bring to light some common ways to first arrest the rental car insurance costs and also to look at ways to reduce them substantially.

The first thing to know is that different types of rental car insurance that is offered. We’ll list the most common below although some rental agencies offer more or may call the coverage packages differently.

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), LDW (Loss Damage Waiver), PDW (Physical Damage Waiver). Its basically a nifty way of saying that if anything happens to your rental car, you don’t need to pay a cent. Nothing. Nada. The problem is it doesn’t cover anybody else that is involved in an accident. It is also prudent to note that some insurance policies have a reduced use limitation. It’s something that limits the coverage, like you driving past a certain zone or driving intoxicated etc. Read and understand the limitation before agreeing to the insurance.

LIS (Liability Insurance Supplement) This insurance is in addition to the one above. It will cover any third party that is involved with any accident that happens with the rental car.

PAI (Personal Accident Insurance or Coverage) This coverage option takes care of the passengers of the ill fated rental car that got into the accident. It will take care of whatever costs from the maiming that requires hospitalization.

PEC (Personal Effects Coverage) or Personal Property Insurance This is normally the least opted coverage. It covers whatever items of value that you lose in an accident or from a break-in to your rental car.

The insurance coverage items that we have described to you above are ordered from the most basic at the top to the extras at the bottom. The most basic insurance package that individuals should drive away with are at least a combination of CDWs and LISs. This is the very minimum coverage that we consider safe. Any less and you could be in for a very messy and prolonged case if you do get into an accident.

One thing that many people don’t know is that if they have comprehensive car insurance for their car, it might even be comprehensive enough to cover the CDW and LIS needs of your rental car. What this means is you might actually be covered right from the get go from your own car insurance. This is a situation that happens more often than you think. It is however vital that you check with you current insurance provider to see if your policy extends to rental cars. Never get a rental car assuming that you already have rental car insurance from your own comprehensive coverage. There are times when your policy changes from year to year and your rental coverage may change without you knowing.

In some rare cases, credit cards may even have some insurance coverage that can be extended to rental car insurance too. This is particularly the case with higher end “gold” or “platinum” cards which have a focus on the regular traveler. Most of the time these cards will have some sort of personal effects coverage or even extend an personal accident coverage too. Again, each person would have a very different circumstance and it would be prudent to check with your credit card provider before signing on the dotted lines.

We think that the best way to approach this is to first check with your current car insurance company and also your credit card company. Give them a call before you even venture to the rental car agency. There really is no point in doubling up your insurance policy as you won’t be able to make use of both. If you already have the coverage from either your car insurance provider or your credit card an overlap will simply be a waste of your money.

You should also do well to know that most car rental agencies will push you to use their insurance products. It is almost certain that they will charge you more as they know you aren’t in a position to choose when you are already at the rental car lot. It is quite normal to find that for the same coverage, the rental agencies will charge almost double the amount that you’ll find elsewhere. This is because the rental agencies act sort of like an agent for the insurance products and will often take a very large commission from the underwriters.

Rental car insurance is certainly needed however you don’t need to get it from the rental car agency. Most rental car agencies sell insurance as a side-income and are certainly trying their best to make you part with more money than you are comfortable with. It would be prudent to first check that you aren’t covered and only rely on the rental car agency insurance products as a last choice.

You don’t need to be in the dark with rental car insurance any longer. We understand that it can be quite confusing so we tackle the problem head on at http://www.InsuranceRelease.com

Do Financial Institutions Insurance Policies Differ From Car and Home Insurance Companies

February 3rd, 2010 No comments

Whether its home or car insurance, when you buy an insurance policy, you are making an important investment. It gives you peace of mind knowing that if an event happens which could cost you a lot of money, you are protected. There are a number of different ways of purchasing insurance. For instance, you can buy it from a financial institution such as a bank or through an independent insurance company. Because most people want insurance with the right amount of coverage at the best possible price, it is important know if there are any significant differences between financial institution insurance policies and policies offered from insurance companies.

When you purchase an Assurance auto from a financial institution, the institution’s lending officer is the person you will work with to get the best policy that meets your needs. The financial officer works with certain institution approved insurance companies to find you a policy. They partner with a broad and varied group of insurance companies and acquire the insurance through an insurance broker who gets a commission fee. Therefore, the lending officer can be considered the middleman. One may have extra fees associated with getting an insurance policy through a financial institution because both the lender and broker are arranging the policy. You will often be offered incentives such as discounts for anti theft devices. For home insurance, you can usually get a policy where the payment is included in your home mortgage so that the amount you pay each month has the cost of the insurance included. As well, you can often get your home and auto insurance policy combined.

When you purchase a policy from an insurance company, you are working directly with the company. You still have the same coverage options that you would with a financial institution, however, you may possibly have more discount options available as the insurance company knows they are competing for your business. As with the financial institution, you will still be offered special policy packages such as combining home and auto insurance policies. In many cases, you can often get a better premium than you would with a financial institution. For instance, when you use an online insurance quote tool, you submit your information and receive a number of quotes from different insurance companies. You can then choose the best policy at the most affordable price.

The insurance products offered by insurance companies and financial institutions are generally similar, however, one can sometimes get more choices at a better premium when they work directly with an insurance company. For example, consider Assurance auto in Montreal. When considering whether to purchase a policy through a financial institution or an insurance company, to make sure you are getting the best price and the necessary amount of coverage, it is important to check with each one. In any case, you have to make sure you are completely covered and can afford the deductible.

In today’s troubled economy, we could all use a deal on our insurance policies. Insurance is not a money making venture, but provides financial security for you and your family. In times of financial crisis, it gives that much needed financial support and is one of your most important life investments. The most important factor to remember when buying insurance is you should always comparison shop to get the best price and correct type and amount of coverage.
