Remove Truck Stickers With Simple Supplies

January 20th, 2010 No comments

I have just bought a used truck from a friend of mine. It is not the prettiest thing because I must remove truck stickers that he went bonkers over. I would prefer my vehicle not having any of those advertisements on it. So, I plan to take care of them this weekend. I do not think it will be too difficult.

One thing that is very important to have, is a gun which produces heat or a hair drier. A little bit at a time, I will heat sections of the stickers for about half a minute to one minute. As quick as I can, I will take off as much of the sticker as possible. I have to remember to stay calm and eventually I will have it all gone. I must be careful not to heat the sections for too long. This might take off the vehicle’s paint.

It has been recommended you use either a hair drier or a heat gun. I suggest if you do this at all, you do not keep the heat on for an extended period of time. Heat a small area for about thirty seconds to a minute then, immediately try to remove what you can. If you heat this for more than the time allotted you may peel off the paint from your vehicle.

Fingernails come in real handy for this type of labor. If you do not have any you may want to employ the use of someone you know who has fingernails. Using the fingernail, try to peel off as much of the sticker as you possibly can. You must stay patient! This is tedious but, it can give you what you are looking for if you will simply take your time!

I also figured out that you need to peel up these stickers at about a ninety degree slant. They just seem to want to be pulled off a certain way. It is almost as if they have a mind of their own. They are stuck and they want to stay that way. Well, I proved that I am more stubborn than they are.

I can either take alcohol or vinegar (one part) and combine it with one part water and put it in a bottle that has a sprayer. Then I take this fluid and put it on the gooey parts which are left once I have taken off the stickers. Taking a finger, I stroked the remains until they came off.

Now take a mixture of one part alcohol to one part water and put this into a spray bottle. Spray this liquid on the glue residue which is left on the body of your truck. Let this soak in for about two minutes. Now take your finger and rub. This should release the residue. Spray again with the solution. Rub with your finger again. Keep doing this until all (or most) of the excess is gone.

The next step is to get a little bit of warm water in a bucket and some gentle soap and wash the area with a soft cloth. If you feel there is more glue, then spray the alcohol and water on it again. I did not claim this to be a simple process. I just claimed the supplies were simple. Get some car wax and buff out the segments. This should work great for you.

On Choosing Car Hire Deals

January 20th, 2010 No comments

If you need a car hire in another city or country, there are a number of ways to get that best deals. Most international car rental companies have their branches in major cities and their corresponding airports all over the world. There are even many kiosks or desks for these rent-a-car companies as you go out of the airport. Don’t be surprised, too, if you find a branch right in your hotel building, or across it.

Car hire companies offer their clients a wider variety of choices, so expect the prices to differ, as well, as you look for other companies. Find the cheapest rate among all car rentals, but also look at other things such as terms, and conditions. You may also check everything on the internet before you even travel since there are websites which allow you to compare offers and deals to give you a clear picture of the best ones.

To get the cheapest car rentals, you might have to reserve and pay for it in advance through the Internet. Some companies slash off prices when you book online, or give you some freebies and additional services. These agencies and companies, often times, also offer different prices for those who book online. And these prices are much lower than their published rates, letting you have more savings.

Think about your budget before you choose which car you would want to drive. There are budget cars all the way to luxury cars – it all just depends on your own budget. Your budget would keep your choices limited, so choose well within that certain price range.

Another thing to check for when you consider car hire is the company’s conditions. Check if you can pick up and drop off the car somewhere else so it would be most convenient for you. In addition, also check if there is a limit on the mileage of the car. You might end up paying more in additional fees afterwards if you do not check their terms and conditions.

Consider getting a car hire without limits for mileage because then you would have more freedom to drive around wherever and whenever you want. You may also opt to have your own driver along with the car so you can enjoy going around in style and in comfort.

Car insurances are sometimes optional, but remember to ask and check for their particular requirements to avoid penalties. Be prepared to present your International Driving License, passport and even some credit cards. Some credit cards offer insurance policies for car rentals and travelling, so check your credit company’s policies.

Remember to check the car before getting it. Inspect the car and put everything on the checklist so there will not be any problems regarding broken parts and other things. Keep in mind that your car hire is your sole responsibility, and you would pay for any damage to the car provided that it was still under your usage when the accident happened. Just keep everything clear, ask your questions, and drive away in a new city or town with your rented car.
