Hybrid Cars And The Energy Crisis

April 30th, 2010 No comments

It has been said that not enough people are doing all they can to fight against the energy crisis. Hybrid cars can help, but maybe not enough people are driving them. Here are a few issues related to the energy crisis and how hybrid cars can help.

The U.S. isn’t doing enough, really

The United States consumes the most fossil fuels in the world. However, most people believe that all of our energy problems can be solved if we would only look further into the oil deposits in Alaska or if we made full use of the recent oil discovery in the Gulf of Mexico. Hybrid cars make it so that we might not have to use other sources of energy to keep the economy going. Hybrid cars don’t make Americans use an excess amount of fossil fuel. Instead, hybrid cars cause Americans to use less fossil fuel.

Energy consumers just swallow increasing gas prices

People used to care that gas prices are much higher than they were years ago. Now, people just accept the high prices. In the meantime, cars are getting bigger and bigger. Car manufacturers are making trucks and SUVs. These cars take in more gas, but you won’t believe how many people just won’t give up their dear old SUV. Hybrid cars end up costing people less to own than conventional cars do. So there’s no need to worry about just settling for being swindled by the oil economy.

Soon there could be a termination of the “cheap oil period”

Soon, we could all be in over our heads because not only will we have an energy crisis, but a peak oil crisis as well. During the peak oil crisis, there will be oil shortages and natural gas shortages. Major countries will be competing against one another for whatever oil is left. So everyone may have some problems, and countries may battle over who gets oil and who doesn’t. The peak oil crisis can be put off if more people just purchase hybrid cars. Hybrid cars don’t make it so that people always have to look for oil. And there are advances being made to hybrid cars everyday.

The plug-in hybrid car for instance, might one day, not need oil at all at all

So in the event that we have an energy crisis, Americans should really use the time to bond and create a unified fight against conflict over oil in U.S. Hybrids cars are the way to beat the energy crisis, and if the the countries still start to fight each other over oil, at least America will know they tried to stop things by investing in hybrid cars.

So it’s decided. The United States’ mass use of the hybrid car might make it so that Americans need less oil. But Americans still have yet to gain from the large amount of money being made from hybrid cars. The majority of popular hybrid cars come from Japan. So Americans need to bring that money back into the country as well as do something about the current energy crisis.

Automotive Problems That Increase Your Risk Of An Accident

April 30th, 2010 No comments

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, millions of automotive accidents occur each year. They happen for a variety of reasons, including intoxication, driver error, distraction, and reckless driving. Inclement weather and mechanical failures are also contributing factors. Sadly, these accidents produce tens of thousands of fatalities each year.

With regard to mechanical failures, it’s worth noting that most are due to normal wear and tear, rather than defective components. This suggests that drivers can reduce their exposure to accidents through routine maintenance. Below, we’ll describe some of the most common – and easily avoidable – mechanical problems that can place your safety at risk.

Worn Brake Pads And Rotors

Your car’s brakes have a limited shelf life. This includes the pads, rotors, calipers, and in some cases, the master cylinder (though failures of the master cylinder are rare).

When stopping your vehicle, the calipers cause the pads to squeeze against the rotors. This creates friction and heat. Both elements cause each pad’s lining to gradually wear away until the pad needs to be replaced.

Your brake system can also develop leaks. When this happens, you’ll feel the brake pedal becoming squishy. Your vehicle will be more difficult to stop, exposing you to potentially dangerous circumstances.

Take note of any uncharacteristic squealing, grinding, or pedal inconsistencies. Have them checked by a mechanic before they pose a safety issue.

Poorly Secured Lug Nuts

Each of your tires is held in place by several lug nuts. As long as the nuts are firmly fastened, your tires will remain secure. On the other hand, if any of the lug nuts are not tightened properly, they can slowly work themselves loose. Given enough time, the nuts can fall off and with them, your tires.

This problem occurs more often than many people realize – usually after replacing a tire or rotating the set. Make sure your tires are on the ground with your vehicle’s full weight upon them before tightening the lug nuts.

Malfunctioning Defrosters

If you live in an area that receives cold or wet weather, you’re likely accustomed to using your car’s defrosters. When they malfunction, seeing through your windows can be difficult. This is extremely dangerous.

The air conditioning units in most vehicles offer a recirculation feature and an “outside” option. The former simply recirculates air in the cabin of your car. The latter draws air from outside. When you engage the defrosters, your A/C activates and dehumidifies air drawn from outside your vehicle. This removes the moisture from the air. A malfunctioning air conditioner will be unable to accomplish this task.

Severely Worn Treads

Your tires are equipped with treads and grooves that provide traction while you’re driving in wet weather. The treads slowly wear down over time, which causes them to lose their grip on the road’s surface. Water becomes unable to filter through the grooves as effectively because the grooves are shallower. If you were to hit a pocket of water, your vehicle would likely hydroplane. This means your tires essentially lose contact with the road, which robs you of control.

Like your brake pads, your tires have a limited shelf life. They must be replaced after they have become worn past a certain point. Most experts suggest replacing your tires when the treads reach 2/32 of an inch. If you drive often in wet conditions, consider replacing your set when the treads reach 4/32 of an inch.

The problems above are within your control to prevent or resolve. Be vigilant about your brakes; replace them when they show signs of excessive wear. If you’re changing or rotating your tires, make sure the lug nuts are fastened tightly before getting back on the road. Also, have your car’s defroster fixed as soon as you notice problems. Lastly, replace your treads when they wear down to 2/32 of an inch (at the most). Doing each of these things will lower your risk of being involved in a traffic accident.

Jaguar – Costa Rica’s Magnificent Wildcat In Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica

April 29th, 2010 No comments

It would strange if someone hasn’t heard the name of the speedy and fierce Jaguar. And I’m not talking about the famous car brand! The jaguar is considered one of the fastest animals on earth and it is actually a kind of cat. Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica has the honor to publish the fact that they, along with parts of Guatemala, are the only places where Jaguars live. The jaguar is the 3rd largest feline after the Tiger and Lion. Jaguars have also featured prominently in Mayan and Aztec mythologies.

Jaguar is the 3rd largest feline after Tiger and Lion. Jaguars have been featured prominently in Mayan and Aztec mythologies.

The way Jaguars hunt is very adventurous and thrilling. If you have ever seen Tigers hunting in National Geographic or channels like this, you will find the similarities. Jaguars are basically stalk predators, meaning that they will stalk there food first, ambush with integrity and then will look for the opportunity to attack with fierce speed.

Jaguar’s teeth have developed an exceptionally powerful bite with their strong teeth that can even pierce the shell of armored reptiles! Their hunting style may sound a little unusual because they bite the scull of their prey delivering a fatal blow to their brain.

They bite directly the scull of their prey delivering a fatal blow to their brain. Don’t get the feeling that Jaguar is harming other animals and is bad because they certainly aren’t. On the contrary, they are playing an important role in stabilizing ecosystem and regulating the population of prey species.

The number of wildlife is declining day by day around the world and Jaguars are one of them. Even the beauty of such creatures didn’t stop them from getting extinct. International trade of jaguars or their parts is prohibited the cat is still regularly killed by humans, particularly in conflicts with ranchers and farmers in South America.

How Do You Correctly Report a Car Accident for Insurance?

April 29th, 2010 No comments

Almost every driver gets into some sort of car accident at some point. It’s important to know the procedures for getting the other driver your information so they know how to contact you afterwards. If you simply drive away from an accident, even if it is small, it is known as a hit and run. You might even hit a car while no one is in it, but it is still important to leave your information so they can contact you. Of course, if the accident was severe your first goal is to get someone to contact 911.

The first step, which most people forget, is to not admit fault. Even if the car accident was your fault it is not wise to admit it to the other driver. If it is later found out that the accident wasn?t your fault, you may still be forced to pay for the damages because you said it was. Try to be calm and handle the situation in an orderly fashion so everyone involved can get back to what they were doing.

Swap the insurance information with the other party/ parties immediately. Ensure that the names, contact numbers, and addresses are provided so you can contact each other later. This explains why it?s so essential to carry your insurance proof along with you in your vehicle. You might have to give the proof later if you don not have it with you at the time of accident.

If everyone is willing to wait you can call your claims representative to come and access the damage. Sometimes this isn?t possible, but you should call them as soon as you have a chance. Your claims representative will take pictures if you are still around, fill out your claims form, talk to all of the parties involved with the crash, and even talk to some of the people who saw the accident.

Take pictures of the damage and surrounding area before any of the cars are moved. With so many people having picture phones now-a-days, this is fairly easy. Take pictures of all the damage to all of the cars, and any other pictures that might help describe the scene.

After you have made a call to your claims representative, clicked pictures, and taken each other?s contact information, you may usually leave the spot. In most cases, a police officer arrives by this time to assist in clearing up the mess and getting your vehicles removed from spot by tow trucks. Sometimes when the crash is not so serious, tow trucks may not be required at all. Also it may take weeks or months to get your insurance money, so you may have to bear the initial repair charges yourself.

The fund you receive is decided by the lowest fixing quote provided to the insurance company. If they total your car then you will get the ?blue book value? for your vehicle. The ?blue book value? is your car?s standard price set after taking into account the age, state, and model of the car. If you had made any alterations in your car, then you will not be paid for that.

How A Hybrid Car Will Help You Get More Control Of Your Wallet

April 29th, 2010 No comments

The price of gas continues to fluctuate, but you don’t have to be left broke. And you don’t have to let the unstable economy control you. Do whatever you can to change your circumstances. And there are all kinds of options for you. For instance, did you know a hybrid car can help you get more control of the money in your pocket? Well it can. Hybrid cars are becoming more and more popular as the cost of fuel goes up, and hybrid cars can really give a person peace of mind.

Gas goes up and gas goes down. And the cycle just seems to go on and on without giving us much relief at all. But if you really take the time to think about it, it’s not the situation, but how you think about the situation that counts. So don’t get sad. Get glad, and pay close attention to the television commercials that talk about hybrid cars.

A hybrid car will help you to truly fight back against high gas prices. This is true because if you purchase a conventional car and then purchase a hybrid car, you will begin to see that you have more money in your pocket immediately with the hybrid car.

Do you like to throw away money? I sure don’t. But you can try it if you’d like. Go ahead, take a twenty or fifty dollar bill, ball it up and place it right in the wastebasket. As you do this, don’t even think about a hybrid car. On the other hand, think about a conventional car. Take that trash bag and toss it so that you definitely cannot go back and get the twenty or fifty dollar bill. How did that feel? That’s not what it feels like to own a hybrid car. That’s what it’s like to own a gas guzzling conventional car. When you own a hybrid car, you will see the money flowing into your pockets instead of going into the trashcan.

Balance your own checkbook? Write down the cost each time you visit the gas station. What does the addition tell you about your car? Whatever it’s telling you, a hybrid car won’t tell you the same thing. And that’s guaranteed.

So make your money talk to you the way you’d like it to. Instead of having it say to you all the time that it’s on its’ way out of your pocket, have it tell you, it’s in your pocket to stay. Get a hybrid car, because after all, the gas price man didn’t work your forty hours a week.

Who worked those forty hours? You did. So make sure you have something to show for it for a chance. A hybrid car is a really nice car to have. And it will be a real help to your bank account. Your wife and kids who are in college will love you more. So what are you waiting for? Buy a hybrid car so you can go around thinking, “money cometh.

Lastly, you got to check out the New Technology that save my petrol bill forever. After installing it, which I must say was very easy, I almost double my fuel economy.

How To Value A Classic Car For Insurance

April 28th, 2010 2 comments

Before you go hunting around for classic car insurance this can be a worthwhile exercise considering the actual value of what your beloved cherished motor is worth. The money necessary these specialist car insurance polices is often determined by the sum insured or declared value. Unfortunately your opinion of the value of the car and that of the insuring company may differ widely. Find out how to value your classic car for insurance purposes?

Unless you approach this potential problem from inception, this may day you take the policy out, if the worst happens and you have to make a claim where your car is written off, do not get the full market value for your classic. This problem is exacerbated if your particular classic is rare, vintage or a historic collectors car.

With a standard car insurance policy on a replacement like for like basis, the value of the vehicle is often set by the market value of times, typically taken from on the list of large publications such as Glasses guide to motor vehicle prices. The number you will be probably be paid for a write-off will be at the current market value of your car, an annual depreciating price given to all cars and vehicles.

This works fine in virtually all those claims, however with the classic car market you don’t have such reliable guide, and problems can arise when a classic car has been involved in a total loss accident.

It is highly unlikely that an owner will know the actual value of their classic car at any time beyond when the bought it, and this applies equally to an Insurer who has to calculate a price for the risk. A decision that also really needs to be made by the insurer in pricing his classic car insurance policy is the cost of repairs. Specialist tools and replacement parts might be required and it important for a prospective purchaser of a classic policy to understand the levels of repair cover offered, and an ideal bound to take your car to an approved repairer if a damage claim

To avoid the above problems that may occur, most specialist car insurers of classic and other collectors vehicles have devised a cover option or policy element called an ‘Agreed Valuation’. The reason for the Agreed Valuation cover is that any time a total loss claim where the classic car is beyond repair and written off, the underwriting company will guarantee to pay the claim in full to the agreed value of the classic car, less any excesses which may be applicable. Generally the agreed value of the car is guaranteed for certain period. If the value of your motor changes significantly presenting notice you will have to inform your insurance company who will arrange for a revaluation. Many specialist car insurers offer the valuation service within the basic policy cover plus its contained in the cost, others will charge a small fee and offer it as optional cover. The valuation process is fairly easy with most classic car insurance companies requiring a set of photographs and accompanying purchase or restoration documentation by post.

If your classic car is valuable or difficult to value think about taking out a policy where agreed valuations are included factored in the scheme to avoid problems with the insurance company when you need it. Usually an Agreed Valuations Certificate is issued by and often only valid for, the participating insurance company. Purchasing to switch classic car insurance to take advantage of the many offers that are currently available from specialist companies on the web where the market is softer and premiums cheaper, make sure to first check that a certificate issued by your previous company is accepted by the new insurer or that the new company offers an agreed valuation service.

If you own a classic car it is far from worth trying to save money on premiums today when it may cost you much more later on any time a claim. Safeguard yourself by purchasing classic car insurance from a specialist car insurance company which has the experience of dealing with cars like yours, and can offer you cover where the value of your classic car is guaranteed.

Reasons For Uses For Motor Oil Comparison

April 28th, 2010 No comments

Motor oil is one of several basics needed to keep any machinery working, whether it be a car, a chain saw or some other sort that needs to have the parts able to move freely. There are many different kinds of oil depending on its purpose. That is why one must make a Motor Oil Comparison when making a purchase.

Another name for this product is engine oil. It not only is used for lubrication of an engine’s moving parts but also cleans it and carries away heat, which could cause damage. It’s used in all types of internal combustion engines. Without oil, engine parts would soon corrode or freeze up and be unable to move.

Three grades of motor oil are single, multiple and turbine. Each has a specific purpose for different types of machinery. The motor oil made from petroleum becomes thicker in cold weather and will form a wax after a period of time as compared to synthetic oil. This makes an engine hard to start and may require removing the oil and replacing it.

In Russia they do perfect Канализация коттеджа. Локальная канализация, дачная канализация

Grades are the weight of the oil that indicates how it will flow as the engine is used. Weather, engine use, and other factors make this determination. A lawn mower, for example, that sits all winter will be difficult to start in the spring as the oil will have ‘set’ and become hardened. It is often necessary to drain the oil and replace it before getting a smooth running machine.

Warming up one’s automobile in the morning or when starting out is for the purpose of warming up the oil and getting it flowing smoothly. Sitting in one position for a long period of time causes the oil to thicken and it needs to thin out to work correctly on the engine. There is no need to use a different weight oil during the year with the exception of air-cooled engines which must use one weight in summer and another in winter.

Viscosity is used to explain the resistance of a liquid to the flow. A high flow cools things such as the engine, pistons and other active parts of the automobile or equipment requiring the oil. It is recommended that any engine running hot needs thinner oil.

There are two kinds of oils, mineral and synthetic. Mineral oils are made from petroleum, which is processed to remove impurities. Synthetic oil is developed in a laboratory. The synthetic oil is almost pure and will not thicken when cooled as mineral oils do. Since synthetic oils do not thicken, they work much better for starting up engines. Whatever use one has for oil there is much to gain by Motor Oil Comparison.

Now you can find complete details and information about synthetic motor oils in a single location! Learn about the advantages of using Amsoil in your vehicle today!

Celebrities That Drive Hybrid Cars

April 28th, 2010 No comments

Yes, it’s true. You could rise to fame and fortune if you would only get up and go get a hybrid. A hybrid car is a car for the rich and famous so it just has to be for you. Many people are driving hybrid cars these days including some of the most envied people on the planet like your favorite movies stars. But the big question is, are you driving a hybrid? Are you driving anything close to hybrid? Well, if you are not, you can’t rub noses with some of these hybrid car-drivers. These people were early drivers of hybrids. You may not see them in a hybrid when they pull up next to you on Rodeo Drive, but trust me, they’ve owned a hybrid before. Well, trust me just as much as you trust any other celebrity news.

Alicia Silverstone

This girl certainly isn’t clueless about the environment. She knows that driving hybrid cars has many benefits. And if the general public doesn’t have the braniac knowledge she has, then that’s just too bad. Alicia knows that hybrid cars are good for everyone including the people who can finally sniff clean air as hybrid cars pass by. So Alicia Silverstone got herself a hybrid. She’s a genius in the book as far as this article is concerned.

Ellen DeGeneres

Hey, this funny lady not only has a cute haircut, but she was driving a cute hybrid car before you probably even knew about it. She was laughing that time at you and your gas-guzzler. Ellen’s got a knack for picking out cars that are good for her budget.

Robin Williams

Funny and sweet, Robin knew when he played the role of Mrs. Doubtfire that he should start thinking more like a sensible driver that you would allow to transport your kids to and from school. So Robin got himself a hybrid, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Ted Danson

Cheers! Ted knows a great car when he sees one. He didn’t sleep at the bar that morning when he decided to go check out the new cars on the lot. He got on up and bought a car that made a whole lot of sense. And yes, it seems like he was very sober while choosing this car.

Brad Pitt

What’s cooking good looking? Certainly not Brad’s fuel engine. He had a hybrid car, so he knows his car isn’t using too much fuel.

Prince Charles

Say this sentence to yourself, “If it’s good enough for royalty, it’s good enough for me.” That’s how you should feel when you drive a hybrid. You should feel royal, adorned, and admired because believe it or not, that’s exactly what you are. So enjoy it.

So, do you feel like a million bucks yet? Well, you should if you are thinking of all the different models of hybrid cars you would like to own. And don’t worry, you won’t have just 15 minutes of fame. Hybrid cars last for years and years.

Discover The Famous Miniature Cars Of Yester Year

April 28th, 2010 No comments

When you think about the words of “famous miniature cars”, it usually comes to mind matchbox cars. The tiny vehicles are know the world over, and later Mattel would make the line of tiny cars and truck famous. Finding out what the history of the play toy is, is a must for collectors. Being informed, will certainly help to decide if it is an original, their true value, and if it is a good deal or not, to buy one.

It might surprise you to find out that the original matchbox design came from an English product company, and by a co-owner, named Jack Odell. He redesigned the first car for his daughter, from a toy that was sold at the company, except it was a much smaller version. The need for the small car was that apparently, she could not take any toys to school that would not fit inside a matchbox, so this is how the idea of die-cast small cars was dreamed up.

Lesney company, as it was known, marketed and distributed through the Moko Lesney company, and after the Lesney legacy went out of business, all of the rights to the name and design went to Moko. If you want to collect the line of vehicles, then be aware that the original distributing company name will be on the toys.

One of the most brilliant plans for the Lesney line was when they developed a retirement plan for their line for the die-cast model of cars. Vehicles would taken off the market after a season of production for the buying public. That is why collectors look for them so vigorously, and will pay high prices for originals. Also, production would be limited, which today draws the value of them to high prices on the open market.

If you are looking for the cars, then known that all originals will come in their unique bright yellow little box, in the shape of a box of matches. If a car is trying to be sold without the box, then look for other defining marks on the car, such as the Moko imprint on the vehicles. Popularity and rarity of certain models, like the die-cast caravan, is just one example of what to look for in the little vehicles.

The condition of cars, trucks, and jeeps, and the packaging it came in is very important, when trying to decide if the selling price is worth the cost. As with other vintage or antiques, all of these factors play into the real worth of it. Only you can decide if it is worth that much to own.

Many new collectors of die-casts do not realize that catalogs of the toys in the Lesney/Moko line, are just as valuable. Any price guides that can be found are a collectible too. As with the vehicles condition on both publications does mean a lot, in value and collectability. Do not be surprised to find more vehicles that are in better shape than the books and magazines. Rough handling by kids does not bode well for paper products.

Knowing all of these facts of history about collecting these rare toy cars and trucks, might just keep you out of being taken advantage of by a sly seller. Read more about the fascinating history of collectible cars and trucks from decades past, and fall in love with them all over again, or for the very first time.

Hybrid Car Myths

April 27th, 2010 No comments

If you are thinking about a hybrid car, you may be hearing quite a bit of “talk.” Some people think the hybrid car is the best thing on the market. Some people say it’ll just pass. Other people say they think they can save a lot of money, but you’re not sure it’s really worth it. What’s the truth, and how do you separate myth from fact with all of the stuff that is being thrown at you? Below, you can read and understand the common hybrid car myths.

Hybrid cars are the same as electric cars

This is not true because hybrid cars are fuel-powered for the most part. They have what are called battery assists. The assist is powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery pack that is rechargeable.

You are guaranteed to save money with a hybrid car

If you are doing city driving, you may save gas and you may not. The same goes for highway driving. There are just many different factors. It has been said that if everyone bought hybrid cars, the gas consumption would decrease by only 10%. That’s not a very big difference.

A hybrid cars battery can run out

A hybrid car’s battery should not run out while you are driving it. The engine in a hybrid car does not idle when stopped (at a red light for instance.) What does it do instead? It recharges its battery. So there’s no need to worry about a hybrid car stopping you.

The hybrid cars rechargeable battery only lasts for 2 years

A hybrid car certainly would not be worth purchasing if this was the case. A hybrid car’s rechargeable batteries usually come with an eight-year warranty.

If I run out of gas, I can keep driving on the hybrid car battery

Keep in mind, a hybrid car’s battery is an assist. That means that hybrid car’s still run on fuel. After you run out of gas, the battery may keep the car running for just a little while. However, the car will stop very soon.

Hybrid cars will soon put conventional car sellers out of business

This probably won’t happen anytime soon. The reason for the delay has to do with the how much a hybrid cars. Many people simply can’t afford one. Also, people just aren’t too sure whether they will really save money on hybrid cars. Therefore, they are slow to join the rush of people who want a hybrid car.

Hybrid cars will only save you about 88 dollars a year

I did hear something on the news about this once, but it may not be true. If there’s something you really want though, and there’s a lot of smoke surrounding it, you simply have to start digging and do some of your own research. There are many different models of hybrid cars, and many different manufacturers make them. This means that there may be many more variables involved than the ones discussed here. A hybrid car may help you, and it may not, but the final decision is up to you.

Why Commercial Vehicles Are Criminal Targets

April 26th, 2010 No comments

Cargo crime is not a new problem. However, it’s a concerning one nonetheless, given that in Europe alone, the estimated cost to businesses is 8.5 billion Euros a year. That’s according to the European Union, who are seeking to cut the number of criminal attacks on road transport vehicles each year. But just why are lorries, vans and trailers such a common criminal target?

Well, first of all there’s the aspect of the value of the goods these vehicles are carrying. Large trucks and lorries are often full of valuable merchandise, which is an attractive target for criminals looking to profit from the theft of such products. And of course, the potential financial gain from the theft of a container of goods is far more than simply a family vehicle.

As well as the value aspect, there is also the fact that road vehicles are a relatively easy target. Compared to attempting to target ships (or of course, aeroplanes) stealing cargo from a road vehicle is a much easier option for criminals. It’s possible for criminals to quite easily obtain information about specific routes and even favoured stopping places of drivers on those routes. A driver will stop many times in a long journey across the continent and will often sleep in his lorry too, making them an even easier target still.

It is thought that much of the crime that takes place is carried out by organised criminal gangs who are familiar with the most commonly used routes and sometimes are even able to familiarise themselves with the service stations that drivers will be the most likely to stop at, making it simple for them to target vehicles.

Manufacturers and freight companies all want to fight cargo crime, but it won’t be easy. However it’s recommended that vehicles are fitted with high end slam locks or another advanced commercial vehicle locking system designed for your specific type of vehicle. In addition, drivers should always be briefed about the risks and of potentially the safest stopping places on their routes.

Excellent Customer Service In a Used Car Loan

April 26th, 2010 No comments

Many young people could not afford their first car if it weren’t for the availability of used car financing. They just don’t have the cash to buy the car outright. Fortunately, obtaining such financing at very reasonable interest rates is not difficult. You must seek information and follow these simple steps.

As you’re paging through the used car ads you’re bound to see what looks like absolutely fantastic car loan availability from the car dealers themselves. You’ll see zero percent offers, low payment offers that seem too good to be true. Of course, they are! These ads should mislead you, make you come in and apply, and end up receiving a loan at 10 to 18 percent over the standard rates! Yes, interest-free offers are available, but only when you have perfect credit. Most used car buyers do not fall into this category. In general, used car loan interest rates exceed those of new cars by several percentage points on average.

One way to mitigate this cost is to get your loan through a dedicated finance company rather than through the car dealership or your normal bank. These institutions generally have more liberal lending policies. Any lender, however, will require proof of the value of the car, and a 20 percent down payment. This is normal and ought not to be regarded as a suspicious request. Both these regulations are designed to give the lender a safety margin, should the loan go into default. If that happens, the lender’s only recourse operates a collateral, which is the car. Therefore, they naturally have a vested interest in knowing that you did not pay too much for the car, and that at least 20 percent of its value holds even if the default happens immediately. This is actually an advantage to you, as well. There is someone looking over your shoulder at the transaction, making sure this is the respectable deal and price for the vehicle in its current state and condition.

Before you apply for your financing, run a credit check on yourself. Proper determine what you are able to afford and should be offered. Sometimes you may realize before you really get started that a used car loan isn’t affordable for you. This is as a result of low credit score, inability to meet the down payment requirements, or insurance concerns. Knowing this going in is important, because online institutions will tempt you with one-day offers. Don’t fall for it! Despite their dire warnings of offer expiration, these lenders will be there tomorrow with another fantastic offer for you! Wait until you are comfortable with the amount and the terms. It’s not at all worth the devastation a loan default can play on your credit history to take it now when you’re unsure you can repay it as required.

Another caution with car loans and any other financial transactions – keep all your paperwork in good order. If you’ve obtained the loan online, print out a copy of everything and store it in a safe place. Never sign anything you don’t understand completely. Ask questions until you understand. Talk to a third-party professional to secure a biassed point of view. It’s your responsibility to protect your own interests. Don’t expect the lender to make it happen for you. This can be a kind of thinking that resulted in the current mortgage crisis in america.

One final piece of advice: When you first get your used car loan, look into refinancing it, especially if you weren’t able to obtain a zero to three percent interest rate. Refinancing sites will usually have calculators on them so you can calculate your total savings. Provided you can get a percentage point under your current contract, it’s worth it.

Can A Hybrid Car Really Save You Money?

April 26th, 2010 No comments

Tired of what’s called pain at the pump? I bet you are. Well, don’t worry; the price of gas isn’t going back to .25 a gallon. That’s for sure. So what do you do? How do you keep yourself from getting a second job so you can make sure you can fill up your tank?

You could carpool. That would require you to do a lot of scheduling and coordination. Hopefully, you are good with adding because you will have to equally divide the price of the gas between all of the riders. You will also have to make sure that either your car or the person’s car you’re riding in is in good working condition. Otherwise, you could be putting yourself or the other passengers in a lot of danger.

You could buy a smaller car and sacrifice style, size, and reputation, but who wants to drive around in a dumpy little car when they could be driving a gigantic SUV? With all of the options that exist for saving gas, there is one that makes a lot more sense than all of the others: Get a hybrid car. However, does a hybrid car really save you money?

There are reasons why the hybrid car does save you money and reasons why it doesn’t. The hybrid car should save you hundreds per week and thousands per year on gas. However, if you are the type of person who is not into keeping track of how much you spend per week driving back and forth from work, you may not be able to truly appreciate the savings that come from a hybrid car.

All of the time, the news is reporting on some fortunate man, who chooses to select a hybrid car as the car he would own next. He wonders if he will actually save money, and to his surprise, he saves a whole lot.

But then there are the stories of people who purchase hybrid cars, but they actually end up saving very little. That is because some of these people may be highway drivers as opposed to local commuters. A hybrid car repowers its battery by stopping. So if you are a highway driver, you may also not be able to appreciate how much money you save with a hybrid car.

Many people say that whether you experience great monetary savings by purchasing a hybrid car has to do with a lot more than most people think. And it really does. Some people who are stay-at-home moms for instance, don’t even consider that it might not make a difference whether they own a hybrid car or not. Really, they just don’t go too many places.

But does a hybrid car really save you money? Yes, but you have to pay attention to how much money you are spending before you buy a hybrid car and after you buy a hybrid car. Then you will see the savings for what they really are. And I’m not saying you have to be an accountant to save money either. I’m just saying that if you don’t see the savings, you might think they are not there when they really are.

Lastly, you got to check out the New Technology that save my petrol bill forever. After installing it, which I must say was very easy, I almost double my fuel economy.
