Are Hybrids Really The Wave Of The Future?

April 25th, 2010 No comments

The future, a wonderful, mysterious, awe-inspiring time has promises for us. Many dream of ending cancer and other diseases. Others dream of bicycles that fly. And could we someday be able to transport ourselves from one place to another? Perhaps. But some of us have dreams that aren’t that big. All we want is a car that runs on something other than fuel.

Maybe one nice sunny day, we could all drive up to the pump and put some interesting chemical in our car that would make it run forever. Maybe we could gas up on some cooking oil or even oxygen. But for now, we have hybrids. Maybe they are the answer to our dilemma. Are these cars the wave of the future?

It seems like they are for many reasons. These cars are electric. “Electric” is a word that is linked with innovation and imagination. Electric signals “power.” That means the power to run and the power to run for miles and miles. That’s what a hybrid car is all about. When you get in one, you’ll know you’ll get to where you need to go and you won’t have to stop at ten gas stations on the way.

Remember when Edison came out with the electric light bulb? Everyone thought it was a great invention, and it has changed the lives of all of us. So a hybrid car is also changing all of our lives. It’s new, and very technologically advanced. Hybrid cars should get the same kind of recognition Edison did. However, hybrid cars do take some fuel to run them, but that doesn’t mean we should applaud them for being able to run on both electricity and fuel.

With all of the above reasons, hybrid cars seem to be the wave of the future, but there are a couple of reasons why that may not be true. For instance, there must be some reason why hybrids are not selling more than conventional cars. That’s because the average customer who looks at the sticker price on a hybrid car is stunned. It’s just too much money for the average car buyer. And how can a car be the wave of the future if it scares people away every time they come to look at it on the dealers’ lot?

Since the cost possibly overrides the benefits of the hybrid car, a hybrid car may just be a transitional car, and the actual wave of the future might be a car that is fueled by something other than “fuel.” Whatever that “fuel” is, I’m sure we will all like it and then we’ll be calling that fuel the wave of the future.

Some people today are already fueling their cars with cooking oil, but that doesn’t seem to have caught on world wide like hybrid cars have. Therefore, cooking oil does not seem to be the solution for us. But, maybe some day, people will start fiddling with their hybrid cars and come up with something much better than the design that is before them.

Complete Your Car By Installing A Music System In It!

April 25th, 2010 No comments

A lot of people love to have a new music system installed in their cars but they cannot initiate the process because either they do not know how to install it or they are not well aware of the required specifications to look for. This article will help all those people, by proving guidelines to install a new music system in your car. Before beginning, it is important for you to know that it can be a tedious and time consuming task because there are various components of a music system that are to be bought. And the congested space in the car can also make installing a music system, a bit tiresome.

Audio Speakers

Good sound speakers are the backbone of a great music system. If you do not have the right specification of a speaker, you would end up downgrading your car’s music system instead of upgrading it. Therefore, you should know the type, size, shape and power capacity of your speaker. It is important because they might not get fixed in your car if they are too big, similarly if the power capacity of your car is not enough to make the speakers work, the output will be horrendous. You do have an option to install surround sound system in your car by installing speakers at the front, middle and back of the interior. And if you are fond of amplified sound, you can have amplifiers installed in your car, but again you have to check whether your speakers are powerful enough to support the amplifiers.

Audio Head Units and Music Players.

All those cars that offer built-in music system obviously offer built-in head units too. However, a lot of people are not satisfied with the standard head units for their music system, therefore they switch from the standard to their preferred ones. While doing so, you should make sure that you exactly know the size of the head units which will easily get installed in the chassis of your car. The size categories are small known as DIN, medium known as 1.5 DIN and large as double DIN. Along with this, you can have a wide variety of alternatives available in purchasing players like tapes or CD or DVD with varied features and specifications.

Amplifiers

Music system also can have amplifiers along with the speakers. These components help in changing the frequency of sound waves from mid range to high, thus amplifying the sound output. A set of amplifiers can be installed in the system, but care has to be taken while designing the network connections of all the amplifiers and the speakers. Also the car battery should be powerful enough to provide support to the system. If these two aspects are neglected, the money, time and efforts which are invested in setting up the music system will go down the drain.

Stereo Sub-woofers

The performance of music systems can be enhanced by installing sub-woofers. Woofers increase the base of the music and make it more enjoyable. Mostly 8 to 12 inch in size woofers are enclosed in an enclosure before installing them in the trunk along with the speakers.

April 25th, 2010 No comments

2007 Ford Mustang’s successful launch proved that pony cars will never be out of style and demand. The new model has come up with various additional features that were not offered in the previous ones, thus making the model a lot more attractive. The body is styled similar to the 2005 model, but axle of rear suspension has been given a changed shape which would result in a very smooth driving experience. It is also worth mentioning that Ford Mustang is a market leader in pony cars segment and the market followers cannot even compete with the performance and affordability of 2007 Ford Mustang. It truly is invincible!

This new 2007 Ford Mustang has been able to set new performance parameters. A lot of striking features have been installed in the car, which make it the first choice of the target market. The company wants to keep its entire customer base happy; therefore, they launched two models V6 and GT with deluxe or premium sub-models. Each model has been tailored as per the needs of different customer segments ranging from ardent music lovers to oldies and even sporty and adventurous youth. To initiate with the review, it is appropriate to mention that both the models are launched with great performing engine. The V6 has 210horsepower engine which has a capacity of 4lt and GT model is launched with V8 engine that has a capacity of 4.6lt. The remarkable feature about these cars is the ability to speed from 0 to 60mph in 5 to 6 seconds. This is due to the excellent speed transmission technology installed in the car.

The company while launching the 2007 Ford Mustang kept in mind to grab all the customer segments that their target market offers. Hence along with deluxe and premium, they also offered standard V6 and pony package for its market. The standard package is not equipped with unique features, but as the name suggests, has all the standard features of a Ford Mustang. The pony package however, is styled to have a more adventurous and sporty look, with impressive suspension system, fog lamps and 17inch wheels. This package is basically targeting fast riders or sporty, adventure seeking car owners.

The deluxe package V6 of 2007 Ford Mustang is launched with alloy wheels and numerous options which the owner can opt for, as per his/her need. Thus Ford has also kept in mind that customization makes the customers feel special and more satisfied. The premium package of V6 is targeted to music lovers who cannot imagine driving without good quality music. They have installed in Shaker 500 music system along with a CD changer. The GT deluxe is similar to V6 deluxe except for it having antilock braking system and a sporty looking interior. The premium model of GT is an advanced version of V6 premium because it has Shaker 1000 stereo system and extremely lavish leather interior installed in it.

The models accelerations differ because of V6 and V8 engines in V6 and GT models respectively. But this difference does not hold much value when the fuel consumption aspect is taken into account. 2007 Ford Mustang is a remarkable launch in the car industry primarily because of its extremely efficient fuel consumption system. For city it is 19mpg and on highway it is 28mpg which is mind-blowing. It can verifiably be said that, 2007 Ford Mustang is a must have if you are one those who want to enjoy pleasure without pain!

The company has launched 2007 Ford Mustang keeping such performance parameters in mind, which the competitors cannot easily beat. Moreover, they also want to have not only satisfied but delighted customer base, therefore, they made sure that the model does not need tedious and time consuming repetitive maintenance work. 2007 Ford Mustang launch has proved that luxury does not necessarily have an opportunity cost! It is one launch that has the ability to sweep the competitors market share and they would not even have time to react to this attack.

Good Auto Auction Choices

April 25th, 2010 No comments

In many people’s mind auto auctions are becoming increasing popular as the best place to find cars at bargain prices but understanding auto auction prices and how to go about bidding is something that leaves a lot of people feeling very confused.

When buying a car from a dealer, there is always a sticker price which you can use as a starting point while you do your negotiations to bring the price done. In an auto auction there is no starting point -the selling price will depends on the interest the car has for potential buyers and how much they are willing to pay. Even the opening price at which the auctioneer begins the bidding is open to change if no one even begins bidding at that price.

Learning how auto auction prices work is important if you want to be successful in your bidding and the best way to learn is to spend time at auctions watching how the bidding is done. Just sit and watch and you will get an idea of which makes command the best price, how the age of a car affects its selling price and how the bidding proceeds – how much is the general increase over the previous bid and so on. This will enable you to do our own evaluations about what cars are within your price range. While doing this exercise, try to look out for the kind of cars you are interested in and pay special attention to their auto auction prices.

Also spend time visiting auto auction websites and note at what prices the cars you are interested in are being sold. Once you have a working idea of what the kinds of car you are interested in are going to cost you, you will need to set yourself budgets. Keep in mind that there are no certainties in any auction and if you get caught amongst bidders who are determined to have the car you are also bidding for, the price can sky rocket. Keep your budget as flexible as you can so that you have some elbow room in your bidding, but never, whatever be the temptation, exceed your budget, because once you bid beyond your limits, it can be difficult to stop.

If, in the course of the bidding, you find there are some people who seem to be extremely interested in the same car that you are, step back from the bidding and let these people fight it out – if the fight ends before the auto auction price ceiling you have set for yourself, you can re-enter the bidding.

How To Get The Information On The Damaged Auto Auction

April 25th, 2010 No comments

When most people pay to get damage to their cars repaired, there are some who spend their money to buy damaged cars. There is one simple reason for this – nothing is as cheap to buy as a damaged car; it may be available at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent new or even second had car.

If you have the interest and inclination to get involved in car restoration, then this could be the best way to get the kind of car you want for a fraction of what it would otherwise cost you. Buying from a damaged auto auction is very different from a general auction – the bidder has to balance his bidding with the expected restoration cost so that the final on the road price of the car is within his budget.

If you are one of those no knowledge of automobile mechanics, stay away from damaged auto auctions – while you may be able to buy a damaged car very cheap, without being able to understand the nature of repairs, you will not be able to control the restoration costs and this will make the whole exercise futile because the end result will be a car that costs more than you expected it to. The first thing to do is to study the list of cars available at a damaged auto auction and make a short list of the ones that interest you – this should be based on the type of car, the nature of the damage and the cost and effort of repair.

The cost and availability of spares for many older makes may be an issue so check on this before finalizing your shortlist. Get second opinions about the nature of the repairs required so that you can be sure that you have not bitten off more than you can chew – this involves getting an expert to inspect the cars you have short listed along with you. Once you have the cars and the repair costs available, make sure that an equivalent undamaged car would not be cheaper that what you will be spending.

Once you are sure that the economics of buying from a damaged auto auction makes sense, make sure that you do not let your self get involved in bidding wars and spend more than you planned – this will affect the final restored price of the car and could make to whole effort a waste of time. If you are willing to take all the time and trouble needed to restore a damaged car, you should be able to have a safe reliable car that will give you years of reliable service.

It seems that auto insurance can do better than mortgage on solving the car accidental affairs.
