April 26th, 2010 No comments

For anybody who is considering leasing vs buying a car and have started your shopping process, many times that leasing a car isn’t as advantageous as it once was. Many manufacturers have changed gears a little and are offering better rates for buying vs leasing a car. However, should you be set on leasing you will find the option that is certainly taking over someone’s current lease.

You can obtain some great lease payments out there and on an array of vehicles. It is just a matter of knowing what it’s you want due to the vehicle that will elegant and fit within your lifestyle and lastly budget. So, the big question is where are you finding who find themselves leasing and looking for someone like YOU who is will to take over a lease.

Usually there are some sources you can check out… places like:

1. Craigslist

2. Kijiji

3. maybe AutoTrader

The one main source to visit first though is, Lease Busters. Lease Busters have postings for people who are wanting to find someone to assume their lease. It costs these people money to post their vehicles, so you know they are serious. You can search through the site and find the vehicles that suit your needs. The vehicle details are there including, how the vehicle is equipped, current kms on the vehicle and also the allotted kms left with respect to the terms of the lease. The lease payment is there before and after taxes and periodically there is mention of a cash incentive for assuming the lease from the customer.

Upon having gone through your searches via Lease Busters, call and ensure the vehicle is still available and make arrangements with the client to review the car and decide from there whether it is going to chic and fit within your lifestyle. Bear in mind when you are interested in a vehicle about location, regarding having the ability to examine the vehicle and of course when the paperwork should be completed at the dealership. When you have found your vehicle, then you’ll have to call the dealership who has the lease and make arrangements with them for the credit approval. They will explain what their process is and what they require. There exists a lease transfer fee and now and again the dealership will also charge an additional transfer fee. It depends on the brand and the policy within the dealership itself. Learning work out who is paying these fees with the person whose lease you are assuming.

Once your credit application has been approved it will take a short time for the dealership to prepare the paperwork. Once they have it will have them calling you and the current leasing customer to make arrangements to do the transfer paperwork.

How to take over a lease is a simple process. Make sure however, you are aware what the additional fees are and what you’re responsible for before you enter into an agreement with anyone, so you cannot find any misunderstanding.

Are Hybrids Really The Wave Of The Future?

April 25th, 2010 No comments

The future, a wonderful, mysterious, awe-inspiring time has promises for us. Many dream of ending cancer and other diseases. Others dream of bicycles that fly. And could we someday be able to transport ourselves from one place to another? Perhaps. But some of us have dreams that aren’t that big. All we want is a car that runs on something other than fuel.

Maybe one nice sunny day, we could all drive up to the pump and put some interesting chemical in our car that would make it run forever. Maybe we could gas up on some cooking oil or even oxygen. But for now, we have hybrids. Maybe they are the answer to our dilemma. Are these cars the wave of the future?

It seems like they are for many reasons. These cars are electric. “Electric” is a word that is linked with innovation and imagination. Electric signals “power.” That means the power to run and the power to run for miles and miles. That’s what a hybrid car is all about. When you get in one, you’ll know you’ll get to where you need to go and you won’t have to stop at ten gas stations on the way.

Remember when Edison came out with the electric light bulb? Everyone thought it was a great invention, and it has changed the lives of all of us. So a hybrid car is also changing all of our lives. It’s new, and very technologically advanced. Hybrid cars should get the same kind of recognition Edison did. However, hybrid cars do take some fuel to run them, but that doesn’t mean we should applaud them for being able to run on both electricity and fuel.

With all of the above reasons, hybrid cars seem to be the wave of the future, but there are a couple of reasons why that may not be true. For instance, there must be some reason why hybrids are not selling more than conventional cars. That’s because the average customer who looks at the sticker price on a hybrid car is stunned. It’s just too much money for the average car buyer. And how can a car be the wave of the future if it scares people away every time they come to look at it on the dealers’ lot?

Since the cost possibly overrides the benefits of the hybrid car, a hybrid car may just be a transitional car, and the actual wave of the future might be a car that is fueled by something other than “fuel.” Whatever that “fuel” is, I’m sure we will all like it and then we’ll be calling that fuel the wave of the future.

Some people today are already fueling their cars with cooking oil, but that doesn’t seem to have caught on world wide like hybrid cars have. Therefore, cooking oil does not seem to be the solution for us. But, maybe some day, people will start fiddling with their hybrid cars and come up with something much better than the design that is before them.

Complete Your Car By Installing A Music System In It!

April 25th, 2010 No comments

A lot of people love to have a new music system installed in their cars but they cannot initiate the process because either they do not know how to install it or they are not well aware of the required specifications to look for. This article will help all those people, by proving guidelines to install a new music system in your car. Before beginning, it is important for you to know that it can be a tedious and time consuming task because there are various components of a music system that are to be bought. And the congested space in the car can also make installing a music system, a bit tiresome.

Audio Speakers

Good sound speakers are the backbone of a great music system. If you do not have the right specification of a speaker, you would end up downgrading your car’s music system instead of upgrading it. Therefore, you should know the type, size, shape and power capacity of your speaker. It is important because they might not get fixed in your car if they are too big, similarly if the power capacity of your car is not enough to make the speakers work, the output will be horrendous. You do have an option to install surround sound system in your car by installing speakers at the front, middle and back of the interior. And if you are fond of amplified sound, you can have amplifiers installed in your car, but again you have to check whether your speakers are powerful enough to support the amplifiers.

Audio Head Units and Music Players.

All those cars that offer built-in music system obviously offer built-in head units too. However, a lot of people are not satisfied with the standard head units for their music system, therefore they switch from the standard to their preferred ones. While doing so, you should make sure that you exactly know the size of the head units which will easily get installed in the chassis of your car. The size categories are small known as DIN, medium known as 1.5 DIN and large as double DIN. Along with this, you can have a wide variety of alternatives available in purchasing players like tapes or CD or DVD with varied features and specifications.

Amplifiers

Music system also can have amplifiers along with the speakers. These components help in changing the frequency of sound waves from mid range to high, thus amplifying the sound output. A set of amplifiers can be installed in the system, but care has to be taken while designing the network connections of all the amplifiers and the speakers. Also the car battery should be powerful enough to provide support to the system. If these two aspects are neglected, the money, time and efforts which are invested in setting up the music system will go down the drain.

Stereo Sub-woofers

The performance of music systems can be enhanced by installing sub-woofers. Woofers increase the base of the music and make it more enjoyable. Mostly 8 to 12 inch in size woofers are enclosed in an enclosure before installing them in the trunk along with the speakers.

A Car for All, Ford Mustang!

April 25th, 2010 No comments

2007 Ford Mustang’s successful launch proved that pony cars will never be out of style and demand. The new model has come up with various additional features that were not offered in the previous ones, thus making the model a lot more attractive. The body is styled similar to the 2005 model, but axle of rear suspension has been given a changed shape which would result in a very smooth driving experience. It is also worth mentioning that Ford Mustang is a market leader in pony cars segment and the market followers cannot even compete with the performance and affordability of 2007 Ford Mustang. It truly is invincible!

This new 2007 Ford Mustang has been able to set new performance parameters. A lot of striking features have been installed in the car, which make it the first choice of the target market. The company wants to keep its entire customer base happy; therefore, they launched two models V6 and GT with deluxe or premium sub-models. Each model has been tailored as per the needs of different customer segments ranging from ardent music lovers to oldies and even sporty and adventurous youth. To initiate with the review, it is appropriate to mention that both the models are launched with great performing engine. The V6 has 210horsepower engine which has a capacity of 4lt and GT model is launched with V8 engine that has a capacity of 4.6lt. The remarkable feature about these cars is the ability to speed from 0 to 60mph in 5 to 6 seconds. This is due to the excellent speed transmission technology installed in the car.

The company while launching the 2007 Ford Mustang kept in mind to grab all the customer segments that their target market offers. Hence along with deluxe and premium, they also offered standard V6 and pony package for its market. The standard package is not equipped with unique features, but as the name suggests, has all the standard features of a Ford Mustang. The pony package however, is styled to have a more adventurous and sporty look, with impressive suspension system, fog lamps and 17inch wheels. This package is basically targeting fast riders or sporty, adventure seeking car owners.

The deluxe package V6 of 2007 Ford Mustang is launched with alloy wheels and numerous options which the owner can opt for, as per his/her need. Thus Ford has also kept in mind that customization makes the customers feel special and more satisfied. The premium package of V6 is targeted to music lovers who cannot imagine driving without good quality music. They have installed in Shaker 500 music system along with a CD changer. The GT deluxe is similar to V6 deluxe except for it having antilock braking system and a sporty looking interior. The premium model of GT is an advanced version of V6 premium because it has Shaker 1000 stereo system and extremely lavish leather interior installed in it.

The models accelerations differ because of V6 and V8 engines in V6 and GT models respectively. But this difference does not hold much value when the fuel consumption aspect is taken into account. 2007 Ford Mustang is a remarkable launch in the car industry primarily because of its extremely efficient fuel consumption system. For city it is 19mpg and on highway it is 28mpg which is mind-blowing. It can verifiably be said that, 2007 Ford Mustang is a must have if you are one those who want to enjoy pleasure without pain!

The company has launched 2007 Ford Mustang keeping such performance parameters in mind, which the competitors cannot easily beat. Moreover, they also want to have not only satisfied but delighted customer base, therefore, they made sure that the model does not need tedious and time consuming repetitive maintenance work. 2007 Ford Mustang launch has proved that luxury does not necessarily have an opportunity cost! It is one launch that has the ability to sweep the competitors market share and they would not even have time to react to this attack.

Good Auto Auction Choices

April 25th, 2010 No comments

In many people’s mind auto auctions are becoming increasing popular as the best place to find cars at bargain prices but understanding auto auction prices and how to go about bidding is something that leaves a lot of people feeling very confused.

When buying a car from a dealer, there is always a sticker price which you can use as a starting point while you do your negotiations to bring the price done. In an auto auction there is no starting point -the selling price will depends on the interest the car has for potential buyers and how much they are willing to pay. Even the opening price at which the auctioneer begins the bidding is open to change if no one even begins bidding at that price.

Learning how auto auction prices work is important if you want to be successful in your bidding and the best way to learn is to spend time at auctions watching how the bidding is done. Just sit and watch and you will get an idea of which makes command the best price, how the age of a car affects its selling price and how the bidding proceeds – how much is the general increase over the previous bid and so on. This will enable you to do our own evaluations about what cars are within your price range. While doing this exercise, try to look out for the kind of cars you are interested in and pay special attention to their auto auction prices.

Also spend time visiting auto auction websites and note at what prices the cars you are interested in are being sold. Once you have a working idea of what the kinds of car you are interested in are going to cost you, you will need to set yourself budgets. Keep in mind that there are no certainties in any auction and if you get caught amongst bidders who are determined to have the car you are also bidding for, the price can sky rocket. Keep your budget as flexible as you can so that you have some elbow room in your bidding, but never, whatever be the temptation, exceed your budget, because once you bid beyond your limits, it can be difficult to stop.

If, in the course of the bidding, you find there are some people who seem to be extremely interested in the same car that you are, step back from the bidding and let these people fight it out – if the fight ends before the auto auction price ceiling you have set for yourself, you can re-enter the bidding.

How To Get The Information On The Damaged Auto Auction

April 25th, 2010 No comments

When most people pay to get damage to their cars repaired, there are some who spend their money to buy damaged cars. There is one simple reason for this – nothing is as cheap to buy as a damaged car; it may be available at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent new or even second had car.

If you have the interest and inclination to get involved in car restoration, then this could be the best way to get the kind of car you want for a fraction of what it would otherwise cost you. Buying from a damaged auto auction is very different from a general auction – the bidder has to balance his bidding with the expected restoration cost so that the final on the road price of the car is within his budget.

If you are one of those no knowledge of automobile mechanics, stay away from damaged auto auctions – while you may be able to buy a damaged car very cheap, without being able to understand the nature of repairs, you will not be able to control the restoration costs and this will make the whole exercise futile because the end result will be a car that costs more than you expected it to. The first thing to do is to study the list of cars available at a damaged auto auction and make a short list of the ones that interest you – this should be based on the type of car, the nature of the damage and the cost and effort of repair.

The cost and availability of spares for many older makes may be an issue so check on this before finalizing your shortlist. Get second opinions about the nature of the repairs required so that you can be sure that you have not bitten off more than you can chew – this involves getting an expert to inspect the cars you have short listed along with you. Once you have the cars and the repair costs available, make sure that an equivalent undamaged car would not be cheaper that what you will be spending.

Once you are sure that the economics of buying from a damaged auto auction makes sense, make sure that you do not let your self get involved in bidding wars and spend more than you planned – this will affect the final restored price of the car and could make to whole effort a waste of time. If you are willing to take all the time and trouble needed to restore a damaged car, you should be able to have a safe reliable car that will give you years of reliable service.

It seems that auto insurance can do better than mortgage on solving the car accidental affairs.

Talking About Boat Trailers

April 24th, 2010 No comments

Boat trailers are designed to help you to transport your boat across land to a certain wet destination in order that it can be launched and enjoyed by you and your friends. Your boat sits on the trailer, which can be then attached to your vehicle so that it can be towed. After you have reached your destination you want to get the boat into the water, but how can you do it?

Submersible and Roll-Off Trailers

There are a number of ways you can get your boat off your trailer and into the water. For the needs of this essay, let’s focus on two ways.

The first way is to use a submersible trailer, which lets you maneuver it right into the water allowing the buoyancy of your boat to take control. When a submersible trailer is immersed into the water the boat will of course float off it then into the water as a rather gentle launch.

Another strategy is to use a roll-off trailer, which enables you to just back your trailer up to the water’s edge after which you roll the boat into the water without submerging your towing equipment at all.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Trailers

Submersible trailers tend to be less expensive and also may be less complicated to use for novice trailer owners. Conversely, submersible trailers are generally harder to look after and in addition need a slope from which to launch the boat into the water.

Many people find that after practice roller trailers make launching boats a less awkward task requiring a less specific area from which to launch.

Rollers and How They Work

The rollers are the specific components that allow the boat to move effortlessly from the trailer. Rollers are so molded to fit the curved underside of your boat in order that they both grip it closely and enable you to move it off and onto the trailer as needed.

Usually, boat trailer rollers are made of polyurethane or rubber.

Like nearly all things nowadays you can purchase trailer rollers at specialist retailers in the main street or on line from anywhere in the world. Of course you should always make sure that you are purchasing your gear from a good and knowledgeable supplier, that will guarantee the secure delivery of your purchase along with its quality.

If you think that buying rollers online is too risky, you may choose to deal with a neighborhood marine supplier face to face. No matter what you should be confident that your rollers and any related gear will protect your boat and never damage it.

Should you own a boat, a trailer is without a doubt a completely necessary piece of equipment. The style, brand and size of the trailer you choose must always make the transportation of your boat as safe and straightforward as possible.

Toyota iQ Small Car Big Value

April 24th, 2010 No comments

We’d been looking forward to driving Toyota’s iQ ever since we heard that a limited number of these micro-sized city cars were destined for our shores.

And to add cutesy factor to the tiny four seater iQ, Toyota’s marketing team has introduced some personality by giving them each a pet name when putting them up on their website for “adoption;” otherwise known as “for sale”.

After making a few enquiries subsequent to our test drive, we discovered that our test car was named Jock, although there didn’t seem to be any tartan, haggis or bagpipes in sight.

At under 3 meters long with a turning circle of just 3.9 meters, we came to the conclusion that Jock’s proportions and maneuverability would probably render him more at home in congested Tokyo than in the sparsely populated Scottish Highlands, but nevertheless, he did cope with the Auckland traffic and with a fuel consumption of just 4.3L/100km, this little puppy didn’t cost a fortune to feed.

Touted as the world’s smallest 4 seater car, it has to be said that the rear seats have such minimal legroom that it’s not really practical for any more than 2 people unless the front seats are positioned so far forward that the front seat occupants will have their faces pressed hard against the windscreen.

With its 9 airbags, including the world’s first center rear airbag to reduce injury in a side impact, Electronic Stability Control, ABS brakes and Electronic Brake force Distribution, McToyota has proved that small can still be safe, with Jock’s kamikaze ancestors having achieved a 5 star Euro NCAP crash test rating.

Powering the iQ is a 1 liter, 3 cylinder petrol engine robbed from Daihatsu. Producing 50kW at 6,000 rpm and 90Nm of torque 4,800 rpm, the engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission with 5 simulated stepped ratios.

We found some characteristics of the CVT trans leaving the engine hunting at low speeds as if the wrong gear had been selected, but overall there’s no shortage of power and the engine/trans combination is adequate in this sector.

Maximum use of space has been achieved by repositioning the differential in front of the transmission, enabling the front wheels to be pushed forward and with the use of a specially designed flat fuel tank mounted under the floor. Seat backs have been made thinner to maximize space too.

Radio controls are mounted on the steering wheel only, with a small display screen located next to the main instrument cluster telling you what station you are tuned to. As New Zealand iQ’s are domestic Japanese models, a band expander is installed meaning you have to decipher the display of frequencies near the top of the dial.

The market for micro-cars here has never been huge and the hefty price tag will deter some buyers.

Due to the price, it’s more likely that iQ’s will find homes here for promotional use rather than the intended purpose of reducing city congestion and lowering emissions.

However, those organizations with an eye for the promotional opportunity will find the iQ definitely grabs attention on the road while conveying the message of social responsibility.

Tips And Tricks For Windshield Repair And Windshield Replacement

April 24th, 2010 1 comment

If you need a windshield replacement or windshield repair in Maine, Vermont, or New Hampshire, you might want some good direction and advice. It’s not hard to find good advice from auto glass professionals, but it’s also quite easy to get bad advice from non-professionals.

For example, one participant of an online forum asked what she could do to stop her windshield crack from spreading. Some of the inadequate answers she got included: self-repairs with clear plastic and special, cancer-causing glue, and with Crazy Glue, Super Glue, adhesives, liquid porcelain, clear nail polish, or windshield repair kits; drilling the end of the crack in the glass; etching around cracks with a glass cutter or diamond; tinting the windshield; covering the crack with packaging, cello, or duct tape; avoiding potholes or bumps; avoiding winter defrosting; avoiding summer sunlight and heat; replacing with a recycled windshield; stop using the car; and getting a motorcycle helmet and baseball bat so as to turn the car into a windshield-free stock car. The functional answers included getting the crack professionally repaired for minimal cost or for free via auto insurance.

It’s crucial to stop windshield cracks from spreading because if they aren’t dealt with in time, they will eventually necessitate windshield replacements. Some jurisdictions in the U.S. prohibit driving with windshield cracks that are in excess of six inches from any one edge of the windshield. Even if a person doesn’t have insurance to cover the cost of a fix, it’s so much smarter to pay $10 or $20 out-of-pocket than to pay hundreds for a new windshield. When a crack is smaller than the size of a dollar bill, it’s usually fixable. It doesn’t make sense for a person to spend even a dollar on a potentially destructive or ineffective self-fix when insurance-paid fixes and $10 professional repairs are available.

Do-it-yourself replacing of windshields is not a good practice because it’s often done improperly and the windshields then pop out in accidents instead of functioning as they are meant to. As well as keeping wind, weather, bugs, and rocks out of the car, windshields function as safety devices during accidents, keeping people and airbags inside the car, and keeping the roof from buckling during a rollover. It’s really only possible to trust windshield installations that are done by properly trained certified technicians and that use only OEM-specified windshields and adhesives. This is why it’s a bad idea to use junkyard windshields for replacements-you just can’t be sure of what you’re getting.

Many Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire vehicle glass dealers offer superior G-12 warrantee coverage on their installation of windshields. They cover your windshield for breakage or damage from normal road hazards for a whole year from the replacement date, fixing or replacing it for free. They also warrantee their installations of windshields and rear windows for as long as the vehicle doesn’t change hands. Check out your very best local New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont auto glass dealers.

All About Plug-In Hybrids

April 24th, 2010 No comments

Known as the eco-friendly car, hybrid cars that you plug in are considered symbols of the advanced future. The savings on gas adds up to the tune of thousands of dollars over the lifespan of the car. Right now, plug-in hybrids are not available to the buying public. Instead, regular hybrid cars are the dominant money-saving choice available to consumers. But in spite of the plug-hybrid’s current public unavailability, in 2009 or 2010 General Motors plans to put one on the market. So many people might want to know all about plug-in hybrid cars.

As early as 1899, hybrid cars were being produced. The producer of these fascinating cars in those early years was Lohner-Porsche. These hybrid cars had to be charged externally.

In 1969, there was a July issue of Popular science. This issue featured an article on a plug-in hybrid manufactured by General Motors. The concept was that this plug-in hybrid car was a vehicle meant for traveling average distances. Called the General Motors XP-883, it had six 12-volt lead batteries located in the trunk area. And it was meant to be plugged into a standard 110-volt socket for recharging, and the fuel tank could hold about 10 liters.

In September of 2004, the California Cars initiative made a 2004 Toyota Prius prototype into what it called a PRIUS+, the difference being that the converted model had an add-on — there were 130 kg of lead-acid batteries onboard.

Ford motor company says it plans to sell plug-in hybrids in about the next five to ten years. Everything depends on improvements made to lithium ion batteries. So don’t you want to drive of these hybrid cars? With a plugin hybrid car, you’ll be the envy of your friends who are just driving regular hybrid cars. You’ll be able to travel on and on without looking for an Exxon or Texaco station.

And these types of hybrid cars aren’t waiting for someone to bring them out on the auto showroom floor. Somehow, these hybrid cars have infiltrated themselves into the media. That’s why people just love hybrid cars in general. And when you think about a plug-in hybrid, you can hardly believe what advances auto manufacturers are making these days.

It is said that there is a global demand for hybrid cars that is unbelievable. In fact, the demand is expected to grow. Therefore, by the year 2010, it is expected that more than 1 million vehicles will be produced annually. And if some of these hybrid cars were made so that they could run on electricity alone, there would be an even greater increase in demand.

But in terms of plug-hybrids, some people may not even believe these hybrid cars are really coming out since what they will be able to do is so awe-inspiring. But plug-in hybrids are definitely on their way. Supposedly, Daimler Chrysler is about to come out with 100 delivery vans that can go 20 miles just on electricity. So get ready, plug-in hybrid cars are definitely coming to an auto dealer near you.

Van Leasing: Benefits And Advantages

April 23rd, 2010 No comments

Leasing means hiring something for a certain period of time and the lessee has to return that to the owner after the end of a contract. The lessee has to agree on some terms and conditions, which are set by the owner, while taking anything on lease. Van leasing is a good option over buying a van for commercial purpose or private use.

Buying a new van needs huge investment, while you can take the same vehicle on lease on easy terms. You can hire a van and can pay the rent, as agreed in the contract. Paying a monthly or quarterly rent is easier as compared to one time huge payment.

A hired van can be changed after the end of the contract and one can try the newer models available in the market. As time passes, the market value of the vehicle decreases which might be a worrisome affair for the owner. The lessee, on the other hand, has no such worries regarding the falling market value as they have hired the van on a fixed rent.

Van leasing is considered under the category of hire agreement, for tax purposes. This is a clear advantage as you can save on tax by taking a vehicle on lease. To avail these tax benefits, you should be aware of all the factors that how you can gain maximum tax benefits from a leased vehicle.

A large number of companies provide vehicles on lease. A person can choose a company which offers maximum benefits. One can make a deal with the owner, where the latter agrees to pay for the service and maintenance of the vehicle which will save the lessee’s money. You will have no worries about the maintenance of the vehicle.

Along with the advantages, there are a few disadvantages of van leasing. The leaseholder cannot become the owner of the van. And, it will always remain the property of the dealer only. Vans are given on rent on a mileage basis. So, keep a check on the mileage meter of the vehicle because extra mileage can make you pay more. Sometimes, dealers don’t agree on the maintenance of the van, and then it will be a costly deal for you. So, be sure to clear out these factors with the owner beforehand.

You can decide whether to put your money into car leasing or vehicle purchase by checking out the financial facts. Information about cars leasing programs and rankings is available online.

The Cerato Koup is arguably the best looking car to have ever come out of Korean car maker Kia’s stable, and it’s quite possibly the best looking Korean car of all time.

We drove the 4 door saloon earlier this year and were suitably impressed. The sedan does everything it sets out to do.

The sedan is comfortable, spacious, finished to a high standard, is keenly priced and competes well in its sector.

When Kia released pictures of the new coupe, we were wowed by its sporty looks and couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel. In the recent past, Kia hasn’t put a foot wrong and everything they’ve built lately has exceeded expectation.

Ex-Audi design engineer Peter Shreyer who penned the coupe, as well as other recent Kia products has done a great job of the design. He says “Design gives soul to the car.” And when the marketing material described the coupe as their first worldwide sports model,” we were looking forward to their new sports car. Not that we were expecting oodles of grunt and tarmac-ripping torque from the 2.0 liter, 115kW power plant, but we were expecting a sporty feel.

A car that provides positive feedback through the steering, which handles well, turns in and steers in a predictable, sporty manner and inspires confidence on twisty country roads.

But this is where we felt let down by the new coupe. The excitement of the visual build-up and promises of a sporty driver’s car were not met by the driving experience.

Steering is vague, the rear suspension is particularly harsh, with the rear end feeling as if it is solidly mounted to the body and the car feels as if it pivots around the front end.

The clutch is harsh, making the coupe easy to stall and tends to drag when driven at anything more than sedate pace, and the gearbox is a tad botchy.

A driver’s car it isn’t and a sports car it isn’t, but there is a place for this car. Front seats are well contoured and supportive, and coupled with the sports styled steering wheel and instrumentation, there are glimmers of a sporty feel from the driver’s seat.

The coupe will appeal to the style conscious, on a limited budget and wanting a hot new look. There’s no doubt, this car will turns heads and looks far more of a car than its price tag might suggest.

The LX gets 16″ alloys, velor trimmed seats, front fog lights, steering wheel mounted audio and cruise control functions, tilt and reach adjustable steering column, six speaker MP3 compatible sound system with iPod & USB input and manual air-conditioning.

The SX model adds 17″ alloys, leather trimmed seats, electric sunroof, reverse sensors and automatic climate air-conditioning.

Safety features include six airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), ABS braking with EBD and three rear ELR diagonal seatbelts.

The sports car sector is new territory for Kia and the coupe has a way to go before it can be considered a proper sports car. But as a sporty looker, they don’t come much better.

Things To Do After A Car Accident El Paso

April 23rd, 2010 No comments

More than 6.3 million car accidents are recorded every year. This fact alone means that the probability of you having a car accident is extremely high. Make sure you know what your car insurance policy covers and what they require of you in case of an accident. If you are involved in a car accident El Paso, remain calm and follow the steps below.

Be prepared. Every automobile should have an emergency first aid kit. Most emergency kits just have items to treat injuries. Make sure yours includes a flashlight, a disposable camera for taking pictures at the scene of the accident and a small notebook and pencil to take down notes. Be sure to have emergency flares, a set of cones and warning triangles in your trunk, too.

Once the accident occurs, safety should be the number one priority of everyone. If at all possible, move the wrecked vehicles to the side of the road. Put out the cones and triangles so other cars can avoid the accident.

Gather all of the necessary information from the other driver. The things that are important are the driver’s complete name, phone number, address and insurance information, both the company name and the policy number. You will also need the information about the car, the location of the accident and the details of what took place.

Gather information from others. Talk with witnesses who saw the accident happen. Get their names, addresses and telephone numbers. Take close up pictures of both cars so the insurance adjusters can clearly see what has to be repaired.

File an accident report. The police may not come to an accident if there are no injuries. In that case, go to the nearest police station, and fill out an accident report as soon as possible. It will help speed up the claims process.

Be familiar with your insurance policy. Don’t wait until you have an accident to know what your car insurance covers. Know whether or not it includes towing or the use of a rental car while your car is in the garage.

Even if the accident is minor, it is best to get your insurance company involved right away. Even if the other driver offers to pay for the damages, it is best to report the accident so the insurance company can hear your side of the story. Once time has passed, it is harder for your insurance company to piece together what really happened.

People involved in a car accident almost always suffer emotionally and financially. These suggestions can help you take care of everything faster and with fewer problems. Safety and remaining calm are the two keys to remember when you find yourself involved in a car accident El Paso.

All About Hybrid-Car Battery Packs

April 23rd, 2010 No comments

Those considering purchasing a hybrid car may be a little concerned about what’s under the hood. Hybrid cars have battery-powered motors. Since a battery-powered motor is not something that typically comes to mind when people think about what’s under the hood of a car, it’s a good idea to get a good understanding of the hybrid-car battery-pack. Below are a few facts about it.

Battery packs in hybrid cars do not need to be replaced

Made to last over the lifetime of the vehicle, a hybrid car’s warranty covers the battery for a time period that lasts between eight and ten years. In terms of mileage, a battery pack is expected to last between 150, 000 and 200,000 miles, and it probably lasts longer than that.

Battery toxicity is a concern, but not a major concern

Hybrid cars use NiMH batteries, not the rechargeable nickel cadmium. Nickel cadmium batteries are usually detrimental to the environment, but the NiMH batteries that are used in hybrid cars are fully recyclable.

Hybrid batteries contain hundreds of cells

Hundreds of cells means that hybrid cars have a lot of complexity going on underneath their hoods, and complexity does usually mean expensive, but with the generous warranty car manufacturers are giving on these cars, there is little involved in purchasing a hybrid.

The numbers of battery failures in hybrids have been really low

When I say low, I mean really low. If failure happens, it’s probably before the cars even get off the lot. Toyota has even said that some of its original Prius models have packs that have gone over 300,000 miles.

The cost of replacing hybrid batteries isn’t even an issue

It isn’t an issue because the battery packs in hybrid cars are built to last. The Department of Energy looked into hybrid vehicles, but stopped its test when the capacity was “just like new” after 160,000 miles. So no one really seems to know for sure what it costs to replace the battery pack in a hybrid car.

The battery packs in hybrid cars are evolving

If we look further into the future, the next generation of hybrid batteries is in the works. The goal: To discover a technology that gives lots of power, lasts for the hybrid car’s lifetime, and costs less to make.

If the battery pack in your hybrid car does run out, there is a solution

Toyota has put out some advice on what to do if your hybrid battery should run out after the warranty has ended. The advice is to recondition the battery. The solution works well because if something goes wrong, the problem lies within only one of the 28 modules that the battery is made up of. So if you simply replace the problematic module with one that matches the chemistry of the other 27 modules, your hybrid car’s battery should be in good shape. You can find a match by getting a battery pack from another car that has a similar mileage and age.

Lastly, you got to check out the New Technology that save my petrol bill forever. After installing it, which I must say was very easy, I almost double my fuel economy.

Important Things To Check When Buying Dashboard Covers

April 22nd, 2010 No comments

Dashboard covers aren’t meant to just sit there and look pretty-they have several other things to do. All right, they have to be stylish and good-looking and all, but there are other aspects too. For example, did you realize that a good dashboard cover can add to the life of your dashboard? The trick is in choosing the right product. Now, if you are about to buy a dashboard cover for your vehicle, here’s a little buying guide to help.

Will It Completely Fit Your Dashboard?

This is the place to begin with your purchase. If the dashboard cover you are selecting stays very loose over the dashboard, then it is most probably going to allow unwanted particles and dust to accumulate below it. Your dashboard could be ruined because of this. It may also retain moisture if some liquids happen to fall on it and that could be a potential invitation for insects to harbor there. Hence, you need to check the fit. Nowadays, stretchable synthetic fabrics are used to make dashboard covers, which can be stretched to fit over all the contours of the dashboards. You may not be able to find better covers than these.

How Protective Is the Fabric?

You need to ensure that your dashboard cover’s fabric is thick enough, due to which it can get better protection from the heat that’s incident on it. The solar heat can actually peel off paint from the dashboard, but a good cover can prevent that from happening. It is also a good idea to take a look at the various scientific developments that have happened in recent times. Right now, there are dashboard covers made with fabrics that can actually breathe and can even absorb the contaminants that might be present within the car’s environment, such as the unwanted emissions. You might want to spend on such fabrics if you are looking for a truly amazing dashboard cover. They can actually enhance the life of your dashboard.

The Cost Factor

The price factor is another thing for you to consider. You need to be cautious that you are really getting your money’s worth. If you are shopping online, you will find there are several options here and also a lot of variety to select from. There are varieties in terms of colors, sizes and even shapes, which is quite well because different cars have different shapes of dashboards. This is the other thing to consider-choose a dashboard cover that is built especially for the model of your car.

Some Quick Tips On Assembling Metal Storage Buildings

April 22nd, 2010 No comments

In recent years, the sales of metal storage buildings has continued to increase. They are commonly used to provide additional room for items such as lawn mowers, gardening equipment, and camping gear. This frees up room in the garage for the family automobiles.

Most of the backyard sheds are small or medium sized units used either for additional storage or to create a work shop. However, you can also find metal buildings large enough to store a plane, boat, or recreational vehicle. You can even find models the size of a barn if you need that much space.

The purchase of a kit is an economical method of adding a storage unit to the yard. Most of the styles purchased for backyard use require two people less than a day to assemble. This excludes time spent on leveling the ground, building a floor, or pouring a concrete slab for a foundation.

If you choose to purchase a kit, do not attempt to assemble it on a windy day. It is best if you have a floor for the building. A concrete slab works best, but you can also construct a wooden floor or purchase a separate flooring kit for the building. At absolute minimum, the ground should be cleared on all debris and the dirt smoothed and packed.

Well drained, firm, level ground is needed for successful construction in future steel buildings. You will find it challenging if not impossible to properly fit all of the components together otherwise. The most common problems with this scenario involve roofs that cannot be placed into position or walls that are crooked. Even if, somehow, you manage to get the building assembled, the doors will usually not work properly.

Check as you go that all pieces are even and level. Do not let any components get out of square. If you do, supports and fittings will fail to fit correctly. Make sure that walls are kept in alignment at all times. Do not install anchors until the building is completely assembled unless the manufacturer advises otherwise.

Before beginning, read through the instructions the manufacturer included with the future steel buildings kit. Locate necessary tools and make sure items such as electric screwdrivers are charged. Find each part listed in the instructions and if any are missing, do not begin assembly. Contact the manufacturer or retailer and obtain the needed parts first.

Be sure that you use the weather stripping supplied with your kit. Double check to make sure that it is adhering properly. If the weather stripping fails, your building may leak. In addition to damaging the contents of the shed, water can eventually lead to corrosion of the shed itself.

If you plan to use the shed to store heavy gardening equipment, you might wish to consider installing a ramp at the door. This will let you roll the lawn mower, tiller, or edger in an out without having to lift it over the threshold. If your building does not have electricity, you can also install a solar panel of sufficient size to power a light if you desire.

You will need to maintain your new shed to keep it in prime condition. Use a little silicone spray to lubricate the doors once or twice a year. Do not allow leaves or snow to accumulate on the roof. Check for scratches or dents periodically. If you find scratches, clean the area and touch them up with paint to prevent rust. Watch for loose screws or bolts and tighten them immediately.

Offering state-of-the-art engineering and production values, our future steel buildings are among the best in the industry. The future steel buildings come in practical and efficient designs. A wide range of future steel buildings is available at affordable prices.
